Service bulletins for the 2018 BMW 530e

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

390 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

There is no communication with the integrated fuel module (TFE) whendiagnosing with ISTA. The following two fault codes will be stored in the DME: 032B43 - Low fuel pressure system, electric fuel pump: pressure value too low CDA594 - Message (- 0x33E) missing, receiver DME, transmitter TFE
B1601232023-07-24. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. A vehicle arrives at your center to be diagnosed for a micro-leak in the fuel evaporative (EVAP) system (NVLD natural vacuum leak detection). For this condition, the following fault is stored in the DME: 190302 - fuel tank ventilation and scavenging air system, micro-leak: leakage more than 0.5 mm.
B1701212022-06-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. The quick disconnect coupling on the cylinder head coolant vent line could break at the cylinder head. This would lead to loss of coolant from the engine.
B1105212022-05-31. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The belt pulley on the mechanical coolant pump may fracture allowing the engine drive belt to come off the coolant pump and alternator.
B1105212022-02-22. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. The belt pulley on the mechanical coolant pump may fracture allowing the engine drive belt to come off the coolant pump and alternator.
B1202212021-07-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SERVICE ACTION: INSPECTION OF THE ELECTRONIC WASTEGATE ACTUATOR CONNECTOR . Due to a software error, long charging times (10-12 hours) for the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) high-voltage battery may damage the internal printed circuit board and the electrical connection to the electronic wastegate actuator. A software error in the Digital Motor Electronics (DME).
B5127202020-12-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP; STRUCTURE:BODY. FUEL FILLER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN: The fuel filler door (aka flap) will not open. In rare cases, if the vehicle is locked using the remote control key and the fuel filler door is pushed closed simultaneously, the fuel door can enter a locked state that cannot be unlocked.
B1706172020-04-20. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. COOLANT LEAK FROM LOW TEMPERATURE COOLING CIRCUIT (N63R): This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 5) replaces SI B17 06 17 dated June 2019. Traces of coolant leaking from the expansion tank of the low temperature cooling system. Coolant in the low temperature cooling circuit may also have an acrid smell and discoloration (1). Aluminum corrosion in the charge air intercoolers or in the radiator for the low temperature cooling is causing an unfavorable chemical reaction to the coolant.
B1108192020-01-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; ENGINE. B57 DIESEL ENGINE - CHECK CONTROL MESSAGE OIL LEVEL TOO HIGH. Check Control Message (CCM) "Engine oil level too high" is displayed. Fuel dilution into the engine oil due to the diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration strategy.
B1301192019-03-18. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; ENGINE. PROLONGED ENGINE CRANK WHILE STARTING (B57O). 1. The engine can sporadically crank for a prolonged period during a cold or hot start 2. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may be illuminated. 3. Any of the following fault memory entries may be stored in the DDE 2E0600; 26CF00; 259800; 259E00.
