Service bulletins for the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 2053492/8 | 2022-10-07. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Air spring fault finding Customer Statement: -The front and/or rear suspension appears to have dropped Technical Background: -Bentley vehicles which are applicable to this TPI are fitted with air springs as part of the suspension system. Should air leak from the air spring dampers, this will cause the suspension to drop. However, the dropping of the suspension does not necessarily mean that the air spring is faulty. -The Measure section of this TPI describes how and where to check for air leaks on the front and rear air springs, the air supply unit, pipes, valve unit and air reservoirs. This includes potential air leak points on the air spring dampers and also the locations of an air leak that can be repaired without the need to replace an air spring damper. |
| 2053492/7 | 2021-10-07. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Air spring fault finding. Customer statement / workshop findings: The front and/or rear suspension appears to have dropped. Technical background: The list of Bentley vehicles below are fitted with air springs as part of the suspension system. Should air leak from the air springs, this will cause the suspension to drop. However, the dropping of the suspension does not necessarily mean that the air spring is faulty. The Measure section of this TPI describes how and where to check for air leaks on the front and rear air springs, the air pump compressor, pipes, valve unit and air reservoirs. This includes potential air leak points on the air springs and also the locations of an air leak that can be repaired without the need to replace an air spring. |

| 2053492/6 | 2020-08-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS. TheMeasure section of this TPI describes how and where to check for air leaks on the front and rear air springs, the air pump compressor, pipes, valve unit and air reservoirs. This includes potential air leak points on the air springs and also the locations of an air leak that can be repaired without the need to replace an air spring. These checks should be carried out in conjunction with the Elsapro procedure Air suspension: To check with the use of the special tool Air suspension leak tester VAS 751 001 shown in the image below as item ( 1). Refer to Elsapro, Repair Group 43, Air suspension To check. |
| 2025177/3 | 2020-07-28. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Mulsanne damper suspension noise Customer statement / workshop findings: Occasional pneumatic whooping noise from the front suspension and infrequently from the rear suspension. The noise occurs when driving over speed humps, driving on uneven surfaces at high speeds or mounting kerbs Technical background: Occasional whooping noise emanating from the front or rear suspension. The noise can be apparent when driving over speed humps above 15 MPH, driving on uneven surfaces at high speeds or when mounting or dropping down from kerbs. The whooping noise is very difficult to replicate, and is evident only after a long drive cycle No further action is required. Measure: This is an understood phenomena under specific dynamic conditions and is therefore categorised as normal vehicle operation and as such does not require further investigation |
| 2037973/2 | 2020-07-28. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Mulsanne front anti roll bar - contact with lower wishbones Customer statement / workshop findings: Knocking noise from the front suspension on rough/uneven road surfaces Technical background: The ends of the original specification front anti roll bar in some cases can contact the front face of the lower right and lower left hand front wishbones. New specification front anti roll bar and anti-roll bar links have now been developed |
| 2035688/1 | 2020-03-03. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Mulsanne front suspension 'chattering' noise Customer statement / workshop findings: There is a chattering noise which is audible from the front end/engine compartment when braking or when driving on rough road surfaces. Technical background: The right and left hand front upper wishbone levers have been identified as the source of the chattering noise which is audible within the cabin particularly when driving on rough road surfaces or when braking. New specification brackets are now available, the latest specification brackets are wider which increases the distance between the upper wishbone and the bracket, the increased distance eliminates contact between the two components. The right and left hand side front upper wishbones brackets and upper wishbones must be replaced along with all applicable fixings. |
| 2032620/2 | 2020-01-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Mulsanne front suspension - control module parameter updates Customer statement / workshop findings: The air suspension warning light (Figure 1) is illuminated and/or event codes C103429 (Front left hand ride height sensor) and C103529 (Front right hand ride height sensor) are present within the air suspension control module. Technical background: The parameters of the front ride height sensors are insufficient, this TPI describes the process which must be followed should the air suspension warning light be evident and/or the suspension control module event codes are logged relating to the front ride height sensors. |
| 2056407/2 | 2020-01-09. Service bulletin. STEERING; SUSPENSION. Condition: Customer statement: Noise complaint from the suspension and/or steering Workshop findings: The noise can be reproduced and clearly assigned to the suspension system from either of the axles And/or The noise can be reproduced and clearly assigned to the steering system Prior to starting the instructions within this TPI, the Retailer must check and confirm the vehicle is in standard factory condition and has not had any non-approved aftermarket modifications conducted including the modification of the engine control modules (chip tuning) Check the history of the vehicle to confirm Should any aftermarket modifications be found, the Retailer must make Product Support aware by raising a DISS query to report the details of the modification, you must then await feedback from Product Support before conducting any further work Technical Background It is the retailers responsibility to check and confirm if any TPIs are applicable to the customers complaint/issue, should an applicable TPI be available, apply it and complete a DISS complaint to include Workshop findings only (No repair query required) For correct diagnosis and repair, the attached Flowchart must be followed in conjunction with the Measure section of this TPI |
| 2053492/5 | 2020-01-09. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SUSPENSION. Condition: The front and/or rear suspension appears to have dropped. Please follow and complete the check list within the Measure section of this TPI to help in diagnosing the issue (the check list does not need to be sent as an attachment should a DISS technical query be raised) . Should a leak be found from an air spring, compressor, valve unit or reservoir, please raise a DISS technical query and include as much information as possible including photograph/s of the leak/s location. Once the DISS ticket has been submitted please await clarification from your TSC before commencing with replacing any of the suspected faulty air springs. Mandatory reporting is applicable for all air spring related issues. |
