Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi Q7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A571382 2017082-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 11-55 dated August 22, 2011. Central locking via remote control does not work either sporadically or permanently. The locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization between the remote control key and vehicle because the battery has been disconnected or the battery of the remote control has been replaced. If other senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless headphones, baby monitors, other vehicle remote controls, etc.), the remote control key may have been temporarily switched off because a clear identification of the remote control key is not possible. This is necessary to prevent an unintentional unlocking of the vehicle by other unrelated senders.
A441336 2022563-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-35 dated January 18, 2013. Customer feels vibration from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h) in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not result in any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control.

The self-leveling suspension warning light is illuminated in the instrument cluster. The self-leveling suspension operates normally again after the vehicle has been parked for a while in a garage or in the sun. DTC 20645 003 (valves for self-leveling control, mechanical fault) is present in the level control system module, J197 (address word 34). If the dryer on the air supply unit (air compressor) has taken in humidity for a long period of time, it may become saturated. As a result, the increased air humidity may get into the solenoid valve block and create condensation. In freezing temperatures, the condensation can freeze and block the valves, a condition that is recognized as a mechanical fault by the vehicle's self-diagnosis. Humidity can also enter the system if there is too much water in the air filter housing. Excess water can enter the air filter housing if the vehicle is driven in deep water or exposed to splashing water for an extended period of time (such as during off-road use).

In addition to this, an "Adaptive Headlight Defective" warning can be present in the cluster if the vehicle has the Prestige trim level. One of the following DTCs are set in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (09), or in the headlamp range control module, J431 (55), depending on the trim level of the vehicle. Vehicles with the Premium Plus option package can have the DTC set in the J519 (09) module. Vehicles with the Prestige option package can have the DTC set in the J431 (55) module. The customer may report that the handheld transmitter cannot be programmed to the garage door opener control module, J530. The customer?s door opener system may not be compatible with J530. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. In A4 model years 2005?2006 and A3 model year 2009, the actual location of the garage door opener control module differs from the location shown in the owner's manual (opposite side of front bumper). The customer may misunderstand the programming procedure, particularly if the customer?s HomeLink® opener system is using an alternate code. The handheld transmitter?s programming function may become inoperative, or the transmitter is too far away from J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530. If the vehicle flashes during the programming of a handheld transmitter, this does not necessarily indicate that the programming was successful; it only indicates that the vehicle has recognized and saved a signal.
A911517 2042013-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. While using Audi connect, the customer cannot access the online destination search and/or the Google Earth navigation view. ?This service is currently unavailable. This GFF test plan requirement is mandatory without exception.
A701547 2038029-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 70 number 15-44 dated February 25, 2015. Various squeaks and/or rattles are heard from the roof area on vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof. These noises can be created by the points of contact between the sunroof cover trim frame and the clips that retain it to the headliner.
A481567 2017266-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 14-62 dated September 23, 2014. Electrically-adjustable steering column adjustment is restricted and does not adjust vertically. Incorrect operation of Easy Entry is not the cause. It is unlikely that external forces have led to the loss of the stored end positions of the adjustment movement. See TSB 2015819, 48 Easy Entry function of the power adjustable steering column intermittently does not work, for more information. Seat adjustments can be used to maintain the 10-inch minimum recommended distance from the steering wheel in case of airbag deployment. The axial adjustment is still functional during this condition. The steering column may be under tension due to unfavorable tolerances of the steering column and module cross carrier. As a result, the current draw of the regulator motors is above specification, which causes the electric steering column adjustment to fail. Once the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (address word 09), detects an excessive current draw, the basic settings will be erased. If basic settings are not stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, the module will not send voltage/current to the motor to operate the vertical adjustment.
A191562 2025303-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 19 number 15-61 dated July 7, 2015. Discontinuation and mixing of Audi-approved engine coolants. G11, G12, and G12+ coolants have been replaced by an improved version. G12++ coolant (for service available) has been introduced in MY 2005 for all engines. G13 has been introduced in MY 2008 as factory filling and service.
A171565 2038129-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 15-63 dated June 2, 2015. A check with the engine oil service dipstick T40178 is necessary, but the adjustment values for the dipstick are not available in the Elsa repair manual. Because of a system change, the adjustment values for the service dipstick T40178 were removed from the repair manual.
A011542 2041787-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. DTCs are stored in the ECM. There may be soot buildup on the moveable elements of the pressure sensing glow plug (PSG).

The customer complains that the rearview camera image is not displayed on the MMI display. DTC 02203 (audio/video input 1) is logged in the rearview camera system control module. An issue with the wiring harness may cause the condition.
A701549 2037104-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 70 number 14-38 dated April 30, 2014. Squeak and rattle noises can be heard in the front doors when music tuned with heavy bass is being played. The noises are likely due to contact between the foam isolation blocks on the door front door panels and the door structure or vibration in the door wiring harness bundle or connectors.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
