| A171347 2035463- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 13-44 dated October 22, 2013. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine, and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner?s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, and the ambient temperature and road conditions. Additional factors include the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Utilizing the advanced sensor technology integrated in models equipped with the 3.0 TFSI engine, it is possible to measure oil consumption electronically via a Guided Function test plan. If the electronic oil consumption test is not available for this model, perform the test with the conventional scale/oil weighing method. See TSB 2018550 for instructions for the conventional scale/oil weighing method. |
| A011340 2035519- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-38 dated October 23, 2013. MIL on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). Drivability is not affected. The leak detection pump (LDP) is a vacuum-driven, ECM-controlled, diaphragm pump. In order for the LDP to operate, the engine must be running and vacuum must be applied to the vacuum switch on the LDP. The LDP pressurizes the EVAP system and monitors any pressure drop within a specified amount of time in order to detect a leak. DTC P0456 or DTC P0442 can be stored due to static or sporadic air leaks in the EVAP system or static or sporadic air leaks in the LDP. |

| A941330 2028277- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 13-28 dated August 13, 2013. There is considerable moisture present in the headlamp. The moisture disappears only after extended drives (greater than 10 minutes). There is no external damage to the headlamp which could introduce moisture. Humid air settles on the inside of the glass, causing moisture to appear on the inside of the headlamp lens. Because of the headlamp circulation system, outside air is allowed to flow through the headlamps. The open, water-protected ventilation system (needed for pressure compensation) creates different ?climate zones? inside the headlamp, where the lens is either warmed up by the light or cooled down by passing air. When high air humidity and temperature differences exist between the inside of the headlamps and the outside, condensation can form on the inside of the lens, especially in cold and wet weather. This moisture buildup can happen, for example, after a car wash, after steam cleaning of the engine or the front end, or after overnight temperature changes. This condition is more easily visible with headlamps made from clear glass. The moisture is an optical condition which does not affect the headlamp function (light performance) and does not lead to corrosion or damage of the internal headlamp parts. This condition is common to all exterior vehicle lights, and can occur on every headlamp, fog lamp, or rear lamp. |
| A661339 2035673- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR; STRUCTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 13-38 dated November 15, 2013. Customer may report hearing wind noise from the front door area when the vehicle is driven at highway speeds. After diagnosis, it is determined that the source of the wind noise is the exterior rear view mirrors. The two main sources of wind noise from the exterior rear view mirrors are: the seam surrounding the turn signal lamp and the seam at the mirror base. The modifications explained in the Service section of this bulletin will effectively mitigate the wind noise symptom for the customer. |
| A441346 2010334- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. WHEELS:LUGS/NUTS/BOLTS/STUDS; WHEELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 12-32 dated August 2, 2012. Wheel bolt requires torque adjustment. Torque sticks, torque extension bars, and impact guns/wrenches are not approved by Audi of America, Inc., and should not be used to apply torque to wheel bolts. Always use a calibrated torque wrench to attain the correct wheel bolt torque and follow the proper wheel tightening procedure as outlined in Elsa. Proper use of a calibrated torque wrench ensures that all wheel bolts are tightened equally and reduces the chances of repeat repairs. Using methods other than a calibrated torque wrench to attain correct wheel bolt torque may lead to problems. |
| A441345 2030194- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. WHEELS; TIRES. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-43 dated November 1, 2013. Steering wheel vibration and/or steering wheel oscillation at a speed range of 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h) on vehicles with very low mileage or at PDI. The condition does not result in any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. Vehicles have original factory-installed wheels and tires. Tire pressures on Audi vehicles are set to specified values in order to prevent flat spotting during the transportation process from various Audi plants to United States ports. To closely monitor complaints of tire-related vibration at very low mileage, we are asking that you contact the Audi Technical Assistance Center (TAC) before performing any repairs on vehicles with this condition. |
| A371319 2036113- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The ignition key cannot be removed even though the gear shifter is in Park (P). The vehicle is mechanically in the Park position, but this is not recognized electronically. The gear shifter cannot be moved from the Park position. On vehicles with advanced key, the vehicle cannot be locked by remote control after the engine has been switched off. DTC may be sporadically stored in the vehicle authorization system control module. The Park position of the gear shifter is sporadically not recognized, which causes the ignition key to not be cleared and prevents the vehicle from being locked. |
