Service bulletins for the 2011 Audi Q5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A451408 2033412-2017-12-14. Service bulletin. STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 45 number 13-07 dated September 25, 2013. Steering wheel does not lock. Various warning lights are on. Steering feels stiffer than usual. The engine cannot be switched off. The ignition key cannot be removed. There are DTC entries present in the system (either static or sporadic). DTCs with description ?Brake control module - no signal/communication? are present in several control units. DTCs are stored in the ABS control module. This condition does not result in any drivability concerns. The steering system is fully connected. The insulation for the ABS wheel speed sensor is damaged in production. Over time, this can lead to corrosion on the wires and restricted functions with the ABS control module. Only the wires in the left bulkhead grommet are affected.
A011395 2033561-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Faults are stored in the engine control module (ECM). Engine shakes. Some of the Bosch ignition coils installed in the affected vehicles may fail prematurely.
A011390 2033767-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. 01 MIL on (DTC P1196/P1197/P0135, heater circuit fault lambda sensor) - Repair Authorization.
A011389 2033768-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MIL on. A cylinder misfire fault (DTC P0301 ? P0306) with DTC P130A is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01).
A011301 2033001-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-83 dated March 29, 2013. MIL on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module. Mileage is greater than 15,000 miles. Under certain driving conditions, the secondary air ports in the cylinder head can accumulate carbon over time, causing a restriction.
A001349 2033576-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.

A911472 2024323-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-74 dated February 5, 2013. A901451 2021151-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-63 dated October 4, 2012. The customer may report flickering of the dash insert lighting, of the A/C control panel lighting, or of the inside light. The condition occurs when the accelerator is pressed while the vehicle is in P or N, or when the vehicle is shifted down when moving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off when the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly-increased voltage, causing the lights to flicker.
A441456 2022563-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 14-50 dated May 14, 2014. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. Customer feels the vibration while driving at highway speeds from 55 ? 80 mph (88 ? 128 km/h). This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic. If an applicable Repair Authorization is not followed, the claim will not be paid.
A001470 2039206-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. High quality media files (video and sound) are now integrated into technical service bulletins on a case-by-case basis. Media files can now be viewed on any smartphone or tablet. Audi of America has started to host its TSB videos outside of ElsaPro. A851422 2033596-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 85 number 14-20 dated February 24, 2014. DTCs may be stored in the heating and air conditioning electronics control module. A faulty printed circuit board in the fresh air blower control module and/or the carbon brushes bind in the brush holder and, as a consequence, lose contact with the motor commutator of the fresh air blower can cause Improper operation of the fresh air blower.
A911469 2038824-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES. The following message appears on the MMI display: ?Device or cable type not supported?. The ?Device or cable type not supported? message may be displayed when the wrong AMI cable type is used. See the Service section of this bulletin for an overview of the AMI cables that support iOS devices.
A191453 2039018-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A small amount of dry or crusted coolant is seen on the coolant pump housing. The coolant level warning is not on. The engine is not running roughly. However, the engine control module, J623 (address word 01), is storing one or more engine misfire fault codes. The fault codes occur at light load, between 8% and 14% accelerator pedal position. The programmed values for the misfiring recognition are not automatically reset by deleting the memory once.
A011491 2028842-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Customer vehicle is fitted with unauthorized ECM tuning. All systems on Audi vehicles are engineered to work together using the factory calibrations, which have been extensively tested and validated before the vehicle is released for sale. The Audi warranty coverage is based on the results of developing the vehicle under the factory calibration. If a vehicle is equipped with unauthorized hardware or software tuning, it can cause stress on vehicle components outside of intended design limits, and can cause damage and additional wear. Subsequently, factory powertrain warranty coverage is reduced or voided.
A171452 2038119-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-51 dated August 18, 2014. The washer solvent level warning is on in the DIS, but the washer solvent level is correct. There is no functional restriction in the windshield washer system. The sensitivity of the washer solvent level sensor (G33) can be affected by the type, concentration, and the presence of additives in the washer solvent currently in the tank. The operation of the level sensor relies on the composition of the solvent to provide an accurate message on the solvent level. Incorrect concentration and the presence of additives can contaminate the sensor and reduce its sensitivity.
A961486 2038421-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customer reports that the side assist is providing warnings when no vehicles are present. The radar is reflected from the rear wheels back to the sensors, resulting in a false side assist warning.
