A481566 2034351-2018-04-02. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 15-65 dated March 23, 2015. Customer may report hearing creaking or squeaking noise from the steering column when steering slowly (the noise can be duplicated while the vehicle is stationary if the steering wheel is turned slowly). The noise may get louder at higher temperatures or when the vehicle is driven for a longer period of time. The noise comes from the sealing sleeve/steering column opening on the bulkhead. Insufficient lubrication of the intermediate steering shaft in the area of the sealing sleeve.

Steering wheel oscillation at highway speeds (typically between 70 and 85 mph). No vibration in the seat surface or other vehicle components. Audi original equipment tires are installed on the vehicle. If necessary, TSB 2022179 has been completed and the 1st harmonic of radial force of every tire and wheel assembly is below 18 lbs. at a tire pressure of 36 PSI (2.5 bar). Ride disturbances such as uneven roads, wheel imbalance, impermissibly high radial forces of the tires, or other rotating components on the front of the vehicle are transmitted to the steering wheel as a vibration or oscillation.
