Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi Q5
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Customer may report hearing wind noise from the front door area when the vehicle is driven at highway speeds. After diagnosis, it is determined that the source of the wind noise is the exterior rear view mirrors. Throughout the development of the Audi Q5 and Audi Q7, various features have been added to the exterior rear view mirrors. The added features include the turn signal lamp, side assist lamp, perimeter lamp, etc. As the complexity of the exterior rear view mirror increases, the mirrors become more susceptible to wind noise. The two main sources of wind noise from the exterior rear view mirrors are: the seam surrounding the turn signal lamp and the seam at the mirror base. The modifications explained in the Service section of this bulletin will effectively mitigate the wind noise symptom for the customer. |

| A641331 2027837- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 64 number 13-26 dated June 7, 2013. The customer may report hearing noises when operating the window or noises from inside the door when driving on rough roads. When the window is lowered, it collides with the clip that holds the window guide cable. This causes the clip to open and contact the window during operation, or to rattle when the vehicle is driven on rough roads. |
| A661333 2033517- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 13-27 dated April 8, 2013. Wind noise is heard by the customer at highway speeds. Air flows through the exterior rear view mirror housing at the seam where the turn signal lamp meets the housing. This causes a high-frequency whistling tone. |
| A661336 2029586- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 13-34 dated September 30, 2013. | A661554 2025323- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 66 number 12-20 dated April 9, 2012. A loud noise is heard when the outside mirrors are folded in or out. The noise originates in the metal spring inside the hinge area of the mirror housing. This spring is used for stabilizing the mirror when the vehicle is driven over rough roads to minimize mirror glass shake. When the mirror housing is folded in or out, the spring must turn or twist with the movement of the housing. The bottom and the top of the spring sit on a plastic base and due to increased friction at these contact points, the spring will skip along the plastic base during the folding operation and creates the noise. The normal functionality of the mirror is not affected. |
