Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi A7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

The customer may describe these noises as a squeal, squeak, grinding, groaning, thumping, or creaking. Brake noise can be attributed to many causes. Aftermarket pads or discs have been installed. There is debris (such as small stones, grit, road salt, or sand) between brake disc and brake pad. Discs are covered with rust. Rust can form when the vehicle has not been driven for a long period of time |

| A971548 2013504- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-15 dated October 20, 2010. Sporadic fault memory entries are stored in various control modules. Contacts may be widened (over 0.63 mm) if incorrect pins or incorrect methods for current flow tests are used. Either action may cause intermittent electrical connections, which can cause sporadic DTCs to be stored in various control modules. |
| A941567 2027773- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-96 dated November 1, 2012. Part or all of the daytime running lights do not work on vehicles equipped with LED daytime running lights. For vehicles with halogen daytime running lights, refer to TSB 2017488: 94 Halogen Daytime running lights do not work. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only. |
| A921510 2038151- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 92 number 14-09 dated September 12, 2014. The washer solvent level warning is on in the DIS, but the washer solvent level is correct. There is no functional restriction in the windshield washer system. The sensitivity of the washer solvent level sensor (G33) can be affected by the type, concentration, and the presence of additives in the washer solvent currently in the tank. The operation of the level sensor relies on the composition of the solvent to provide an accurate message on the solvent level. Incorrect concentration and the presence of additives can contaminate the sensor and reduce its sensitivity. |
| A911588 2026390- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. When a phonebook with a large number of contacts is being downloaded, the MMI screen freezes Briefly after the initial Bluetooth connection (shortly after the phone is bonded to the vehicle), after the ignition is switched on (shortly after the phone automatically reconnects with the vehicle), and after the phonebook has downloaded. When the voice recognition system is used, a message appears in the MMI screen stating that the phone book is too large and that the voice recognition system cannot be used. When music is streamed to the MMI system with the Bluetooth A2DP connection, the music intermittently pauses or seems to skip. The condition goes away once the phonebook transfer is completed. The MMI uses a limited portion of the total memory to convert the name and phone number fields of downloaded contacts into a voice command (text to speech). Extensive processing takes place if too many letters are used in the first and last name fields or if numbers or special characters are entered. The remaining memory is dynamically assigned to different applications which can also affect the capacity of the voice command processing. The MMI does not respond until the process is completed or it may freeze if phonebook fields are too large or do not follow typical formatting. In addition, the text-to-speech capacity is exceeded and the voice recognition system is rendered inactive. |
| A911585 2039515- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. The customer complains that the Audi Connect Online service in their 2012-2013 A6 or A7 vehicle only reaches 2G service when in some metropolitan areas. This bulletin applies only to model year 2012-2013 A6 and A7 vehicles. For other vehicles, see TSB 2039476. Recently, T-Mobile (the service provider for Audi Connect) has repurposed some of the GSM spectrum (3G on 2100Mhz band) to maximize 4G LTE coverage in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Devices that do not support 3G service on the 1900MHZ band (including MMI main units of model year 2012-2013 A6 and A7 vehicles) will only receive 2G service when the switch is completed. The change currently only affects the markets listed above, but will affect other markets in coming years. This bulletin will be updated to include these markets as changes occur. |
| A911583 2030465- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. There is an unpleasant, musty odor coming from the heating and ventilation system. The odor usually occurs when the vehicle has been sitting unused for five hours or more. The odor usually occurs within 20 to 60 seconds after the vehicle is started. Condensation, which is a normal condition in all A/C systems, can cause a musty odor. If the odor is noticeable in the vehicle when the engine is not turned on, the cause may be mold and mildew in the passenger compartment, and not be related to the A/C system. All other possible sources of the odor must be investigated before this bulletin can be performed. |
| A421523 2029953- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS; SUSPENSION:FRONT:SHOCK ABSORBER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 42 number 13-19 dated September 24, 2013. DTC P045600 (EVAP System Leak Detected NVLD (very small leak)) is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Drivability is not affected. The picture looks too bright, too dark, or opaque in certain areas of the image. The colors of the objects in the image are incorrect or slightly off. The guidelines used for parking are fuzzy, distorted, or pixelated when compared with the guidelines displayed on another vehicle?s MMI. |
| A701545 2029280- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 70 number 14-37 dated April 24, 2014. The customer may report hearing noises from the upper dashboard area when driving on poor roads, making phone calls, or playing music. The noise can be caused by unfavorable tolerances between the instrument panel speaker and the center speaker trim. A speaker that has been incorrectly installed can make the condition worse. Because there is no attachment to the trim carrier in the speaker cut-out, this area is the likely source of the vibration. |
| A391515 2028902- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 39 number 14-14 dated May 5, 2014. A squealing, howling, or whistling noise may be heard coming from under the vehicle. The condition is typically noticed when the vehicle is cold (normally below freezing) and is moving at speeds of 5 - 60 mph. The noise is from the intermediate bearing of the propeller shaft. |
| A191559 2034439- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:RADIATOR ASSEMBLY; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 19 number 13-45 dated September 3, 2013. The coolant warning light is illuminated. Coolant is leaking from the front intercooler radiator because of stone damage to the radiator. When vehicles are driven on gravel roads, there is a greater chance of front-end stone impact damage to the intercooler radiator. |
