Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi A6

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A011463 2033630-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-86 dated April 15, 2013. The MIL is on. There is a rough idle. DTCs are stored in the ECM. Engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Because there are a number of different misfire faults (unrelated to ignition coil operation) that could cause the MIL to illuminate, proper Guided Fault Finding (GFF) misfire diagnosis must be followed before any ignition coils are replaced.
A011452 2029340-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-07 dated June 21, 2013. The MIL is on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). The faults listed above are caused by an incorrect software setting and can occur under certain driving conditions. In some scenarios, such as extended idling or heavy stop-and-go traffic, a slight misinterpretation of the data can occur and the MIL may be activated. The MIL will illuminate and DTC P112800 and/or DTC P113000 will be stored when the intake air temperature is high. Freeze frame data will show an intake air temperature above 104°F (40°C). The MIL will illuminate and DTC P008700 will be stored when the coolant temperature is high. Freeze frame data will show a coolant temperature above 212°F (100°C). There are no condition restrictions for DTC P244000 or DTC P244200.
A011451 2030580-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-19 dated August 1, 2013. Update Bulletin2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Under certain conditions, permanent mode $0A DTC codes concerning the fuel pump power stage module may remain visible after the vehicle?s OBD system has run the proper monitors successfully to allow the DTC to be erased by the system, after a proper repair. This software malfunction may cause vehicle to not pass IM inspection programs. This software update eliminates specific permanent DTC codes stored in mode $0A of the ECM. All other DTC storage functions remain unaffected. This Update is in effect until removed.

A741315 2035757-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; SEATS. Customer may complain that the seat pneumatics (side bolsters and lumbar support) actuate without any input from the customer. This condition can occur when the vehicle is driven at high altitudes or when the outside temperature fluctuates. DTCs may be present in the front seat pneumatics control modules, J873 and J872 (address words 88 and 89) or in the rear seat pneumatics control modules (in certain A8 models only), J875 and J874 (address words 8A and 8D). No leak is present. There is a software issue in the seat pneumatics control modules that causes the seat pneumatics to automatically actuate in high altitudes (change in air pressure) or in fluctuating temperatures in order to maintain pressure.

A011349 2035454-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-35 dated October 8, 2013. During reset of the service reminder, the message ?AIR system - action required - observe test plan? appears on the ODIS tester. MIL is not illuminated. Under certain driving conditions, the secondary air ports in the cylinder head can accumulate carbon over time, causing a restriction. The ODIS tester can identify the state of the restriction, and will request that the system is cleaned in order to prevent the MIL from illuminating.
Dealer Letter -2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This communication is to inform you of that Update 48K8 has been revised to include a warning to ensure that the Bluetooth function of the scan tool must be physically switched off prior to performing this Update. The driver?s voice sounds muffled or background noise sounds very loud to other caller during Bluetooth calls. Voice recognition commands are not recognized or voice recognition accuracy is poor. The location of the microphones within the roof module make them susceptible to interference by the vehicle air vents and climate control settings. When the center air vents are pointed upward, they can cause a ?swirling? effect that affects the audio quality of Bluetooth® and voice recognition. This is particularly evident on hot days when the A/C system is set to ?auto?.
A801305 2033806-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 80 number 13-04 dated August 9, 2013. Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on. Battery testing and charging for vehicles equipped with a Battery Data Manager (BDM - J367). When the InCharge 940 is used as a battery charger in auto mode, it performs a battery condition test and may prematurely fail the battery if the charging takes place at the jumper posts in the engine compartment. This is due to the added resistance in the system between the battery and jumper posts. When the InCharge 940 is used as a battery charger in manual mode, the battery condition test is not performed.
