Service bulletins for the 2012 Audi A6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Transmission warning may appear in instrument cluster. After ignition cycle, the warning message is no longer present. The fault occurs with ATF temperature below 60o C. Check for this temperature range in the extended environmental conditions of the diagnosis protocol. This TSB only applies if the ATF level is correct and there are no leaks. |
| A9021982059335_2 | 2021-05-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This bulletin contains information on noises from the instrument cluster installation area. |

| A171452 2038119- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-51 dated August 18, 2014. The message ?Oil minimum warning, add one quart of oil? appears in the instrument cluster, but the oil level is above the minimum level (when measured with special tool T40178). There are no DTCs related to oil level stored in the ECM memory. The oil level sensor is defective. |
| A911517 2042013- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. While using Audi connect, the customer cannot access the online destination search and/or the Google Earth navigation view. ?This service is currently unavailable. Please try again later" message appears in the MMI. The customer may also see an error message in the myAudi portal indicating that one or multiple licenses are expired and must be renewed. Replacing the SIM card or MMI hardware or performing the SVM recovery activation will not remedy the concern. |
| A171568 2028440- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-49 dated April 3, 2014. When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer. |
| A701550 2029280- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 70 number 15-45 dated April 15, 2015. The customer may report hearing noises from the upper dashboard area when driving on poor roads, making phone calls, or playing music. The noise can be caused by unfavorable tolerances between the instrument panel speaker and the center speaker trim. A speaker that has been incorrectly installed can make the condition worse. Because there is no attachment to the trim carrier in the speaker cut-out, this area is the likely source of the vibration. |
| A461488 2037761- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Customer may report that the engine cannot be switched off with warnings on in the instrument cluster (e.g., ABS/ESP). |
| A461484 2031135- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 13-57 dated August 16, 2013. The yellow warning for electromechanical parking brake (EPB) appeared once in the instrument cluster. The warning turned off after the ignition was cycled, and there have not been additional occurrences. EPB function was not affected. The adaptive cruise control (ACC) was inoperative once, but it resumed proper operation after the ignition was cycled, and there have not been additional occurrences. DTCs are logged in the EPB control module. |
| Customer Letter | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Audi has determined that, under specific conditions, the turbocharger could malfunction and may cause the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster to illuminate due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this component. The MIL is part of your on-board diagnostic system. Please refer to your owner's manual for additional information about the MIL. In some locales, an illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp could cause your vehicle to fail an IM emissions inspection, and your vehicle registration application could be denied. Please be aware that other conditions (unrelated to the issue described in this letter) may cause the MIL in your vehicle to illuminate. Customers should be prepared to cover all diagnosis and repair costs for these other, unrelated conditions. Dealers will diagnose and replace a faulty turbocharger if necessary, at no cost to you as long as the vehicle remains within the time and mileage limits of this warranty extension. |
