Service bulletins for the 2015 Audi A5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A911595 2040926-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The navigation map update database 8R0051884CJ cannot be activated using Software Version Management.
A911590 2040406-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 15-87 dated May 18, 2015. When the vehicle is started, the GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the MMI navigation map does not match the vehicle?s actual location or direction of travel for a long period of time (often as long as 10 minutes). The issue occurs in open sky, with no large buildings obstructing the sky view. The issue is intermittent, but it can occur for long periods of time during a single day. The issue typically happens on very warm days when the HVAC system blower is at a medium to high setting (auto or manual), with air being directed out of the panel vents. When the issue occurs, the GPS navigation system satellite reception shows 0 satellites. Due to the infrequency of the issue, this might not be verifiable. (To view the number of satellites being received, go to Nav >> Route >> Select Current Position (first item in list) and scroll up. No DTCs related to the GPS antenna or MMI system are present. The vehicle is an A4 (including S4 and allroad variants), A5 (including Cabriolet, S5, and RS 5 variants), A6 (including S6 variant), A7 (including S7/RS 7 variants), A8 (including long wheelbase, S8, or W12 variants) or Q5 (including SQ5 and hybrid variants). Q7 and Q3 vehicles are not affected by this condition. The failure can happen at start-up or while the vehicle is being driven. The issue typically starts when the vehicle is driven on curvy or circular roads, driven in circles (such as when driven around a parking lot), or driven on or off an expressway.
A011528 2040508-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 15-21 dated April 29, 2015. The MIL is on. DTC P046100 (Fuel level sensor circuit Range/Performance) is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). DTC P046100 can be caused by miscalculations within the ECM software.
A941560 2017806-2017-10-25. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 14-32 dated January 23, 2014. A971548 2013504-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-15 dated October 20, 2010. Sporadic fault memory entries are stored in various control modules. Contacts may be widened (over 0.63 mm) if incorrect pins or incorrect methods for current flow tests are used. Either action may cause intermittent electrical connections, which can cause sporadic DTCs to be stored in various control modules.
A911584 2040579-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). During PDI, the Navigation function is found to not be available. The error message "Navigation data is invalid" appears in the MMI. During a certain production period, the supplier of the MMI main unit, Harman, incorrectly configured the software for the MMI. As a result, Navigation cannot be activated.
A911583 2030465-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-07 dated September 12, 2013. Group "A" complaints: Valid for vehicles with MMI software below version 566. Group "B" complaints: Valid for vehicles with MMI software at or above version 566 but below 715. A961592 2039096-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 14-88 dated November 25, 2014. Customer may report that Audi side assist is providing false warnings (no vehicle is present in the blind spot). No faults related to Audi side assist are stored. A941564 2017806-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 15-60 dated February 12, 2015. The light bulb warning light is displayed in the instrument cluster with the following message: "Vehicle lights: malfunction". DTCs are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module. A911579 2038824-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-69 dated November 4, 2014. The following message appears on the MMI display: "Device or cable type not supported". The AMI cable being used is a genuine Audi-branded cable with an Audi part number (see Required Parts and Tools for a list of valid part numbers). The "Device or cable type not supported" message may be displayed when an incorrect AMI cable type is connected to the MMI system. Only cables with an Audi part number (i.e., 4F0.XXX.XXX) are supported by the MMI system. Volkswagen-branded cables look similar, but are not guaranteed to work with Audi MMI systems. The label on the end of an Audi-branded cable has an Audi logo and Audi part number. Audi-branded cables have unique firmware inside the hardware that can determine which MMI system and iOS device are connected to the cable. Volkswagen cables do not have this firmware. The firmware is required to allow the system to function normally due to the different technology available in the different MMI systems and in the different iPhones and iPod Touch devices. In addition, the AMI system was designed to play the music stored locally on the connected device only. Music streaming (from Spotify or Pandora, for example) is not supported, and music stored in the cloud (on Google Play, Amazon Prime, or iTunes Match/iCloud, for example) may drop out, pause, and skip when played.

A961604 2042811-2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Audi connect Gen1 and Gen2 systems: Differences and troubleshooting. The customer has a general concern related to Audi connect. Different features are included with different generations of the Audi connect system. The Audi connect Gen1 system includes all vehicles that utilize a removable plastic SIM card. The Audi connect Gen2 system includes all vehicles that utilize an embedded SIM card. The root cause of all complaints cannot be attributed to the vehicle hardware because of the backend server configurations that need to be correct in order for Audi connect to work. For most sporadic complaints, the issue typically resides with the MBB backend server or with the source data provider (Google, INRIX, etc.), and not with the vehicle. In rare cases, the mobile network operator (AT&T, T-Mobile) can be the cause of the complaint. For most static complaints, the issue can be attributed to the user account subscription or possibly the vehicle hardware.
