Service bulletin 22N05 S1
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 55031 | 2026-07-28. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration |

| SSM 54215 | 2025-09-18. Service bulletin. Some 2019-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may require various repairs and/or maintenance to the fuel system where quick release couplings are utilized, such as the secondary fuel filter. The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 310-00 > General Procedures > Quick Release Coupling has been updated to include videos and instructions of proper disconnect/connect steps involving the Type 27 quick release couplings. |
| 22E02 | 2025-07-02. Emissions. During initial vehicle production, the Particulate Matter sensor (PM) was not installed on your vehicle due to a component supply shortage. The part is now available for installation. Additionally, the Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) sensor preheat is not functional in the powertrain calibration. Under certain conditions, this can lead to thermal shock and sudden failure of the NOx sensor |
| SSM 52765 | 2024-08-06. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty pickup vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine, 175 inch wheelbase, and built on or before 23-Sep-2021 may exhibit a thump/whine/knock noise from the midship fuel tank at idle or during key on, engine off (KOEO) after performing TSB 21-2057. The noise may be more pronounced at fuel levels at or below 1/4 tank. This may be due to the fuel pump |
| SSM 50977 | 2022-08-02. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2022 F-Super Duty and 2021-2023 E-Series vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L gasoline engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0457 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a loose fuel filler cap. The fuel filler cap design has changed, requiring multiple turns to seal properly. Advise the customer to turn the fuel filler cap clockwise until there is at least one audible click to seal properly. For further diagnostics, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-13 - pinpoint test HX. |
| SSM 50619 | 2022-03-22. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty pickup vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and built on or before 23-Sep-2021 may exhibit a thump/whine/knock noise from the fuel tank at idle or during key on, engine off (KOEO) after performing TSB 21-2057. The noise may be more pronounced at fuel levels at or below 1/4 tank. This may be due to the fuel pump. To correct the condition, replace the fuel pump and sender assembly with service part HC3Z-9H307-AR for vehicles with 160/164 inch wheelbase and a midship fuel tank, HC3Z-9H307-AQ for vehicles with 142/148 inch wheelbase and a midship fuel tank, and HC3Z-9H307-AS for vehicles with an aft of axle fuel tank. For claiming, use causal part 9H307 and applicable labor operations in Section 08 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 50448 | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2022 F-Super-Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit a hard start, lack of power and/or runs rough concern with an illuminated malfunction indicator light (MIL) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0087 and/or P008A. This may be due to low fuel level or fuel gelling in cold ambient temperatures. If no root cause is determined after normal Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test MA, recommend that the customer use a different brand of fuel and use Motorcraft® PM-23-A Diesel Fuel Anti-Gel and Performance Improver. Inform the customer that bio-diesel blended fuels have a higher occurrence of fuel gelling. Fuel gelling and or low fuel conditions causing a P0087 and/or P008A is not covered under warranty. |

The noise may be more pronounced at fuel levels at or below 1/4 tank. This may be due to the fuel pump. To correct the condition, replace the fuel pump and sender assembly with service part HC3Z-9H307-AP.
