Service bulletin SSM 50974
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB 24-2066 | 2024-04-03. Service bulletin. This TSB supersedes article 24-2036 to update the vehicles affected. Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty pickup vehicles built on or before 02-Jan-2024 equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0133, P0139, and/or P0145 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the software in the PCM and does not affect vehicle operation. |

| SSM 52345 | 2024-03-20. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2024 various Ford/Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience concern where customers are receiving an error message when trying to enroll in connected services. This may be due to the gateway module (GWM) software. To correct the concern, download and run the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation app: under HS1 modules select BCM > Transport and Factory Mode > Download > Run. When the pop-up message appears for Change Vehicle Mode - Transport/Factory/Normal Mode, press OK. This will proceed to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Unlock Vehicle Connectivity Settings (21 MY + Vehicles). A pop-up message appears noting Vehicle Is Now In Normal Mode, select OK. This will return to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Exit. A final pop-up notification stating that the application is finished, select OK. For claiming, use causal part 14G490 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| TSB 23-2307 | 2023-11-02. Service bulletin. Some 2019-2020 Edge/F-150/Fusion/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus, 2019-2021 Mustang/Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 EcoSport/Escape/Expedition/Explorer/F-Super Duty/Aviator/Corsair/Navigator, 2021 Bronco Sport and 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles with SYNC 3 may experience various SYNC performance related concerns. This may be due to the SYNC Software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the SYNC module (APIM) software. |
| SSM 51762 | 2023-07-03. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may exhibit the navigation feature in the center display screen only displaying imperial units and not being able to change to metric. This may be due to the software level of the SYNC module (APIM). This issue does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in September 2023. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicles settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in September 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information. |
| SSM 51738 | 2023-06-30. Service bulletin. Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:87 in various modules when a diagnostic self-test is performed, which includes: powertrain control module (PCM), advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), anti-lock brake system (ABS), power steering control module (PSCM), body control module (BCM), telematics control unit (TCU), driver door module (DDM), and/or passengers door module (PDM). This may be due to the modules DTC sensitivity during vehicle key-on/start-up. Replacement or reprogramming of these module(s) may not resolve this condition. U211B:87 should be ignored if: no other DTCs are present, no warning indicators are illuminated while the engine is running and no noticeable symptoms are present. No further service action is required. |
| TSB 22-2225 | 2022-06-13. Service bulletin. Some 2019-2020 Edge/F-150/Fusion/Continental/MKZ/Nautilus, 2019-2021 Mustang/Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 EcoSport/Escape/Expedition/Explorer/F-Super Duty/Aviator/Corsair/Navigator, 2021 Bronco Sport and 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles with SYNC 3 may experience various SYNC performance related concerns. This may be due to the SYNC Software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software. |
| TSB 22-2147 | 2022-04-26. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Escape and 2021 Corsair vehicles equipped with a 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) or 2.5L plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain may exhibit a no crank/no start condition due to the passive anti-theft system (PATS) immobilizer being enabled. This may be more prevalent after a vehicle service/repair. This may be due to software that renders the inverter system controller (ISC) (also known as secondary on-board diagnostic module C (SOBDMC)) inoperable when a vehicle repair requires a PATS update. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram various modules starting with the powertrain control module (PCM). |
| SSM 50548 | 2022-03-08. Service bulletin. Some 2022 Maverick and 2020-2022 Escape vehicles equipped with a 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may exhibit an idle surge and/or rough idle with high temperature in the catalytic convertor and sulfur odor in the cab. This may be due to the software installed in the powertrain control module (PCM). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently developing a software update that is expected in the last week of March 2022. Once the software update is available, contact the customer and schedule a follow-up appointment for repair. Monitor OASIS for updates. |
| TSB 22-2078 | 2022-03-08. Service bulletin. Some 20202022 Escape/Aviator plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and 20212022 Corsair PHEV vehicles may exhibit a FordPass or LincolnWay App message notification indicating deep sleep mode and connectivity is temporarily unavailable while the vehicle is plugged in during high voltage battery charging. The vehicle may also exhibit an inoperative remote start feature and/or lock and unlock functionality. This may be due to the software in the telematics control unit (TCU). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TCU. |
| SSM 50375 | 2021-12-27. Service bulletin. Some 2016-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may exhibit a condition where the navigation voice prompts are inoperative after a SYNC map update. This may be due to an incomplete installation of the SYNC map software. If possible, using the original USB that installed the update, reperform the update and verify the navigation voice prompts have returned. Multiple reboots are expected when this update is being performed. Verify the Installation Is Complete message displays in the touch screen. If the original USB is not available, go to website https://syncnavigation.com/ford/home or https://syncnavigation.com/lincoln/home to download the files once more for the affected vehicle. For further map update support, reference the FAQ section on these websites. |
