What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 23S48 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-477) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.

On certain vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the SYNC display screen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear.

Safety Risk:

A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software.

SSM 549612026-06-29. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a condition where short drop windows, window bounce-back, and/or one-touch close does not operate properly. This may be due to loss of window initialization. Replacement or reprogramming of the DDM, PDM, and/or any other components may not resolve these conditions. The short drop windows feature may be restored by performing a reset procedure as described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Using Short Drop Windows > Resetting Short Drop Windows. If the customer is experiencing an inability to fully close the window due to repeated bounce-back events, the window bounce-back feature may be overridden by performing an override procedure as described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Window Bounce-Back > Overriding Windows Bounce-Back. The one-touch feature may be restored by performing a reset procedure as described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Opening and Closing the Windows > Resetting One-Touch Close. These symptoms may return after a successful reset/override of the feature. Show the customer where they can find these procedures in the Digital Owner’s Manual so they can have the option to perform the procedures on their own should any of these symptoms return. Inform customers that engineering is aware of these conditions and working on a solution which is expected to be available by the end of Q4 2026. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
TSB 26-22982026-06-29. Service bulletin. This article supersedes 25-2551. Reason for update: to correct the descriptions for the liftgate glass weather seals. Some of the vehicles listed in the model statement above may exhibit paint wearing along on the top inner edge of the tailgate where the rear window weather strip contacts the tailgate. This may be due to the accumulation of dirt between the rear window seal and tailgate.

SSM 541372025-08-19. Service bulletin. Various 2021-2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with the rear camera on demand feature may exhibit "Please Check Surroundings For Safety" or "Full View Not Available" messages when the rear camera button is pressed and the vehicle is not in reverse. Inform customers this condition is considered normal operation and does not affect vehicle durability because the full rear view camera image can only be shown when the vehicle is in reverse. No additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition.
SSM 539812025-07-02. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a rattle from the front windows with the windows placed in the partially down position and driving over rough roads and/or bumps. This may be due to the interface between the window glass and the body mounted glass run. To correct this condition, replace the body mounted glass runs using the body mounted glass run kit (3 door: M2DZ-9821597-E, and 5 door: M2DZ-7821597-F) which contains updated seals for improved sealing performance. For claiming, use causal part 9821597/7821597 and labor operations 23943A and 23943A19 in Section 12 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 539622025-06-24. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2025 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a water leak from the A-pillar, overhead console/upfitter switches and/or sun visors. If a leak is identified from this area, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-18 Pinpoint Test (PPT) G for water leak diagnosis. If the PPT leads to the replacement of the header seal, a revised header seal has been released for service (M2DZ-7803110-H) which contains a thicker consistent bead of butyl across the entire length of the seal. The header seal will need to be firmly depressed and massaged to make sure all of the butyl that is across the entire header seal will properly adhere to the body, creating a water-tight seal. For claiming, use causal part 7803110 and labor operation 03110A in Section 12 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 538942025-06-19. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2025 Transit vehicles equipped with a 360 degree camera may exhibit one camera display inoperative with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B12BE:31, B148E:31, B12BF:31 and B115E:31 stored in the image processing module B (IPMB). These DTCs will set when only one camera has the condition. Replacement and/or reprogramming of the IPMB will not resolve this condition. To properly identify which camera/circuit has the condition and requires repair, visually confirm which camera display is inoperative (grayed out/blank/blue). If the condition is intermittent, interview the customer to find out more details and/or review the DTCs stored in the IPMB. The DTC with a status byte of 2F (example: B12BF:31:2F) indicates which camera/circuit has the condition. Repair as necessary. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 413-13C.

A bulletin is the manufacturer's note to its dealers. It is not part of this recall.
