What is wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Rockport work trucks equipped with an optional trailer brake controller. The brake controller may have been wired improperly, which may prevent the brake controller from activating the trailer brakes when the vehicle's brakes are applied.

What can happen

Without the trailer brakes assisting, stopping distances may be lengthened, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake controller, free of charge. The recall began July 23, 2019. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-327-2392. Forest River's number for this recall is 65-1046.

A brake fluid leak can result in reduced stopping performance or inoperative service brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.
5118912025-03-03. Service bulletin. According to FCA Recall 24V896: "The brake hydraulic control unit could fail. Over time, this could cause the antilock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC) system and/or traction control not to work. An antilock braking system, electronic stability control system and/or traction control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash."
5116402023-07-05. Service bulletin. According to General Motors Recall 23V247: "These vehicles are equipped with an unused circuit that a final-stage manufacturer may elect to use to install an optional rear HVAC system. If the final-stage manufacturer leaves the circuit's connectors or cut wires unsealed, exposure to moisture or contamination may, over time, cause corrosion. This could result in high current draw through the circuit at the vehicles' lower left side B-pillar. Unintended release of excessive heat from the circuit may pose a risk of a vehicle fire and increase the risk of injury."
5114432022-03-01. Service bulletin. The high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) on your vehicle may fail prematurely. A high pressure fuel pump failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can increase the risk of a vehicle crash without prior warning The remedy for this condition is not currently available. We are making every effort to finalize the remedy as quickly as possible, and will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor) when the remedy is available.
