The software installed in the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM) may have an error causing the Telematics and Driver Support Systems to function improperly. As a result, the GPS will not provide location information to emergency personnel in the event of an emergency. Built 2016-03-24 to 2018-11-01.
18V5540002018-08-22. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES. Volvo Car USA LLC (Volvo) is recalling certain 2019 Volvo XC40 vehicles. NHTSA advises: do not drive until the repair is done.
18V5350002018-08-15. SEATS:MID/REAR ASSEMBLY. Volvo Cars USA LLC (Volvo) is recalling certain 2019 Volvo XC40 vehicles. The rear seats may not have rear seat back lock strikers, allowing the seat back to move forward during certain hard braking conditions or a crash. Built 2018-06-20 to 2018-06-21.

20225952022-10-20. Visual System. Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the top-view camera to display instead of the rearview camera image when you are reversing. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 360-degree park assist camera. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners in writing and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, or for vehicles without over-the-air (OTA) update capability, Volvo will instruct you to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
20200992020-03-13. Brakes. Issue: On certain vehicles, the automatic emergency braking system (AEB) may not apply the brakes automatically when it detects a possible collision. In addition, the system may not warn of a potential crash with a non-moving vehicle or object. Note: The regular brake system and all other functions in the vehicle are not affected by this problem. Safety Risk: The AEB system may not provide driver warnings and apply the brakes automatically to help avoid a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the vehicle software.
20186182018-11-09. Accessories. On certain vehicles, the Telematics and Driver Support Systems may not function as designed due to a software error. In the event of a crash, this could mean that the Emergency Assist system would not alert Volvo and provide the GPS coordinates of the vehicle. This could create a risk of no response from emergency services. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software.
20184412018-08-23. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the brake pedal may not have been fastened correctly during manufacturing, and could result in the brake pedal moving out of position. If this were to occur, it may lead to reduced braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the brake pedal and replace it if necessary.
20184302018-08-15. Seats And Restraints. On certain vehicles, the rear seatback lock strikers may not have been installed during the manufacturing process. In the event of crash, an unlocked seatback could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupants. Correction: Dealers will inspect and install rear seatback lock strikers as necessary.

A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
