ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:PARKING ASSIST:WARNING; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS:HOSES/VALVES/SENSORS; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. It is recommended to perform the EVAP tank leak test on V6 equipped Touareg through Control Module OBD. The test can be selected from the basic settings selection under the ECM address 01. Select ?Tank Leak Test? basic setting and then select ?Measured Values? so that the readings can be monitored during the test (Figure 2). Select ?Tank Leak, Result? and ?Tank Leak, Status? from the drop down list and press the ?forward? arrow to continue. Press the ?forward? arrow again and then the ?Start? button. The brake and gas pedal must both be depressed in order for the test to begin.
TT1913012023-07-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. After a cold start, the engine coolant temperature gauge will slowly rise to approximately 190° F. When the F265 mapped thermostat opens, the gauge may drop by approximately 60° F before again rising to 190° F. No repairs should be attempted for this normal concern. F265 is pictured below.

When servicing the timing chain sprocket or removing the vibration damper, be aware that one bolt holds both the vibration damper (harmonic balancer) and the crankshaft timing chain sprocket to the crankshaft. Once the damper is removed, the crankshaft should not be rotated unless special tool spacer T10368 has been installed. The crankshaft timing chain sprocket and spur gear drive on the crankshaft have a coupling that must be seated correctly during assembly. Failure to install special tool spacer T10368 before rotating engine will cause the engine to skip time and bend valves.
