Service bulletins for the 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TT450904 | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION; STEERING:RACK AND PINION:RACK; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:PARKING ASSIST:SENSORS; POWER TRAIN; STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING:STEERING CONTROL MODULE. Some Golf, GTI, Jetta, and Passat vehicles equipped with electromechanical power steering have the G85 steering angle sensor located in the steering rack. These vehicles do not have a G85 in the steering column. To determine G85 location, check the J500 Power steering control module part number in the GFF printout. Do not use the part number on the steering rack for this check. |
| TT131301a | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. When servicing the timing chain sprocket or removing the vibration damper, be aware that one bolt holds both the vibration damper (harmonic balancer) and the crankshaft timing chain sprocket to the crankshaft. Once the damper is removed, the crankshaft should not be rotated unless special tool spacer T10368 has been installed. The crankshaft timing chain sprocket and spur gear drive on the crankshaft have a coupling that must be seated correctly during assembly. Failure to install special tool spacer T10368 before rotating engine will cause the engine to skip time and bend valves. |
| TT131301 | 2023-07-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. CBFA 2.0T TSI Engine |
| TT321401 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Incorrect torque converter or flywheel/flexplate installation can result in transmission damage. When installing an engine, flywheel or transmission, please follow the installation procedures outlined in ELSA. For the flywheel/flexplate, please be certain the correct shim is installed between it and the crankshaft (reference VWIQ120). When installing a torque converter, press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop. Turn the torque converter while pushing toward the transmission using light force, until the cut outs in the torque converter hub lock into the pump wheel plate. The torque converter slides in. The torque converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission bell housing. Additionally, it should spin freely when the transmission bell housing bolts are torqued to the engine block, prior to installation of the flywheel to converter bolts (reference VWIQ121). |
| TB371302 | 2023-06-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This bulletin provides a procedure to determine ?repair? versus ?replacement? of an automatic transmission. This procedure is to be used ?After? the transmission has been removed from the vehicle. |

| TT 37-11-05 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Tech Tips (Measure Value Block Request): If a request has been made for several MVBs from a DSG transmission, the test plan "Read measured values for obligation to report" can be selected. This function will retrieve all of the MVBs from the transmission which can be attached to a VTA ticket. This selection is available under Guided Functions or GFF when using VAS-PC, an example is shown below. |
| TT 45-09-04 | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; STEERING. Tech Tips (2009-2015 Jetta, Eos, Rabbit, Golf, GTI, Passat, CC, and Tiguan Equipped with Electromechanical Power Steering ? The sensors expected settings, and which vehicles do not have this sensor for electromechanical power steering. |
| TB-35-11-01 | 2011-09-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION). VOLKSWAGEN: THE GEAR BOX HAS A MOMENTARILY DELAY WHILE ACCELERATING. *RM |
| CSC-37E6/S8 | 2011-04-25. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. VOLKSWAGEN SERVICE CAMPAIGN: SEE DOCUMENT SEARCH BUTTON FOR OWNER LETTER. IN SOME VEHICLES IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A BUSHING INSIDE THE MECHATRONIC UNIT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO WEAR OUT PREMATURELY, CAUSING THE CLUTCHES INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION TO OPERATE LESS SMOOTHLY THAN BEFORE. THE DRIVER WILL BEGIN TO NOTICE CHANGES IN THE WAY THE VEHICLE FEELS AS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS (JERKING). THIS CHANGE CAN BECOME VERY PRONOUNCED, THE VEHICLE REMAINS SAFE TO DRIVE. *PE |
The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
