Service bulletins for the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TT441303 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. WHEELS; SUSPENSION. This Tech Tip provides an overview of vehicle four wheel alignment, and important steps that should be followed when performing four wheel alignments. |
| TT441101 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If the battery has a low state of charge or is disconnected, fault code 02757 ?adapting tire pressures? may set in address 03 ? Brake Electronics. The GFF test plan for this fault may prove inconclusive and the fault may not clear, even after performing TPMS reset using the button in glove box or through the MFI. |
| TT401301 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:CVT. If a CV boot is found to be leaking grease on PDI and a clamp is found to be loose or not aligned properly, only the clamp should be replaced. If concern is found after the vehicle is sold, replace the complete CV joint. |
| TT321401 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Incorrect torque converter or flywheel/flexplate installation can result in transmission damage. When installing an engine, flywheel or transmission, please follow the installation procedures outlined in ELSA. For the flywheel/flexplate, please be certain the correct shim is installed between it and the crankshaft (reference VWIQ120). When installing a torque converter, press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop. Turn the torque converter while pushing toward the transmission using light force, until the cut outs in the torque converter hub lock into the pump wheel plate. The torque converter slides in. The torque converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission bell housing. Additionally, it should spin freely when the transmission bell housing bolts are torqued to the engine block, prior to installation of the flywheel to converter bolts (reference VWIQ121). |
| TT271301 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When diagnosing a generator charging concern, it is recommended to verify operation of the one way clutch located in the generator pulley (if equipped) before replacing generator assembly. To check the one way clutch, remove the belt from the generator pulley and use a trim removal tool to hold fan blades inside generator, as shown below. When attempting to turn pulley by hand with fan blades held, pulley should spin freely in only one direction. If pulley spins freely in both directions, the one way clutch has failed and should be replaced before continuing diagnosis. |
| TT261402 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Disconnect both O2 sensors (front and rear), start engine and let idle. Check MVB's 41/4 and 136/4 and verify have both changed from a 1 to a 0 (you may have to drive the car 4 miles to get them to reset to 0). Also a key cycle may be required for values to reset. This forces the ECM to re-learn the O2 sensor adaptation. Once MVB 41/4 and 136/4 read 0, re-connect the O2 sensors, road test and recheck for faults. |
| TT261303 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Use of aftermarket air filters such as cotton bed steel mesh or cone style, can cause the MAF sensor to not read accurately, affecting vehicle performance and critical monitoring functions for the diesel particulate filter. This can also result in premature DPF failure. Only use factory air filters. The use of aftermarket air filters is not supported as the system was designed and calibrated to work with factory air filters. |
| TT261301 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. When diagnosing ECM fault P2413 ?Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Performance?, pressure test turbo hoses for leaks and repair as necessary. |
| TT261101 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. 2012-2013 Passat does not have measured value block numbers. Check values ?Particle filter, kilometers since last regeneration?, ?Particle filter, oil ash volume?, ?Particle filter, soot mass calculated?, and ?Particle filter, soot mass measured? instead. |
| TT2407103 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM). When diagnosing fault code P2279-Leaking Air in Intake System, be sure to check the cam timing first. |
| TT231401 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. When replacing or adapting fuel injectors, if there is no Guided Functions Test Plan, utilize the following :UDS vehicles: Go to Guided Functions / Adapting Injector Quantity Adjustment correct values (IMA-IVA). |
| TT231002 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. When replacing fuel system components on the Common Rail TDI engine (including the fuel filter), the fuel system must be primed. |
| TT211301 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE. If mechanical damage is found to the turbocharger (e.g. damaged compression wheel, loose or broken shaft), it is not enough to just replace the turbocharger. |
| TT211001 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. When diagnosis on the above engine leads to the testing of the N75, please refer to the picture below. The diagram shows which vacuum ports on the N75 valve should hold vacuum and which ones should not. |
