Service bulletins for the 2015 Volkswagen GTI

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

23Q3 Circular Re2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE. The Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board have determined that Volkswagen vehicles equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder TDI engine do not comply with applicable emissions regulations. The emissions control systems on the vehicles will not control emissions under off-cycle conditions as effectively as during the federal test procedure. The extent of the emissions increase under off-cycle conditions depends upon how the vehicles are driven.
V171403 20178132017-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Technical Bulletin (Oil Consumption Measurement): Customer states oil consumption is higher than the Volkswagen oil consumption standard of up to 0.5 quarts per 600 miles, or 0.5 liters per 1000 km. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owners Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, the ambient temperature and road conditions. Further factors include the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. This document discusses the "Fault Codes" necessary to diagnosis, and potential remedy of the issue. The fault codes for checking warranty coverage for servicing the vehicle are also available.
V201503 20314262017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Technical Bulletin: High Pressure Fuel Pump Diagnosis. Completing the GFF high pressure pump function test is essential to diagnose proper pump operation and to avoid unnecessary replacements. This document contains the procedure to update the programming on the diagnostic hardware. This document contains the fault codes necessary to check the warranty coverage for servicing this issue.

V871508 20055662017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Technical Bulletin (HVAC, Unpleasant Odor): Unpleasant odor is coming from Heating and Ventilation system. Odor mainly occurs after vehicle has been sitting (unused) at least 5 hours and within 20 to 60 seconds after vehicle is first started. This document contains information on how to diagnose, and service this issue.
V871509 20383682017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Technical Bulletin (Air Conditioning Does Not Cool and or Compressor is Noisy): The condition may be caused by a faulty A/C compressor regulator valve (N280). The internal components of the valve can be obstructed and incapable of full function. This loss of refrigerant regulation from N280 can cause noise from the air conditioning compressor and/or affect the HVAC cooling. This document contains information on how to diagnose, and service this issue.
TT 21-10-022017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; POWER TRAIN. Tech Tips: The document discusses the conditions of when turbo can to be fixed or replaced
TT 19-12-012017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Tech Tips (Radiator Identification Sensor): On TSI (2.0l CCTA, CBFA) equipped vehicles with fault code P2568 Direct Ozone Reduction Catalyst Temperature Sensor, this fault refers to - G611- as Radiator Identification Sensor. If the radiator requires replacement on any above listed vehicle, the -G611- will be packaged separately within the radiator packaging. The new sensor will need to be bonded to the radiator.
V241503 20401792017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. Technical Bulletin: This document refers to direction on DTC P2014 Intake Manifold Position Sensor -G336- Replacement, and its fault codes.
V001413 20338462017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Technical Bulletin (Fuel Additive to Help Prevent Sporadic Misfire Faults): Fuel quality impacts the operating performance, efficiency and service life of the engine. The use of poor quality fuels may result in deposit build up on the fuel injectors and intake valves. This may result in a rough running condition, sporadic misfires, or cold start misfire faults storing in the ECM fault memory. This document informs a Volkswagen approved fuel additive is available to help remove and prevent deposits on fuel injectors and intake valves.
V921503 20373222017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Technical Bulletin (Washer Level Sensor issues): The sensitivity of the washer solvent level sensor (G33) can be affected by the type, concentration, and the presence of additives in the washer solvent currently in the tank. The operation of the level sensor relies on the composition of the solvent to provide an accurate message on the solvent level. Incorrect concentration and the presence of additives can contaminate the sensor and reduce its sensitivity. This document discusses the diagnosis, and potential remedy of the issue.
