Service bulletins for the 2019 Toyota Avalon

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

254 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

T-TT-0615-202020-07-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE. TT: The Toyota Quality group is looking to better understand our customers expectation regarding vehicle drivability. Specifically, we are looking at vehicle surge/hesitation condition (inconsistent acceleration) and would like to recover detailed customer voice and vehicle data.
T-SB-0023-202020-04-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. TSB: Some 2019 ? 2020 model year Avalon Hybrid, Camry Hybrid, and RAV4 Hybrid vehicles may exhibit a MIL ON condition with a ?Hybrid System Malfunction? message displayed and one or more of the following DTC(s) that represent an over current between the MG1, MG2, and inverter/PCU: ?P1C5D19 ? Drive Motor "A" Inverter Circuit Current Above Threshold ?P1C5F19 ? Generator Inverter Circuit Current Above Threshold These conditions typically occur on low vehicle mileage (less than 5,000). After an occurrence, the vehicle will be able to run normally with no drivability issues. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address these conditions
T-SB-0134-16-Rev2019-09-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. TSB: REVISION NOTICE July 01, 2019 Rev2: ? Applicability has been updated to 2019 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles. ? The Techstream Preparation and Process Overview sections have been updated. October 30, 2017 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2018 model year vehicles. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. SUPERSESSION NOTICE The information contained in this bulletin supersedes SB No. T-SB-0012-13. Service Bulletin No. T-SB-0012-13 is obsolete and any printed versions should be discarded. Be sure to review the entire content of this bulletin before proceeding. Flash reprogramming allows the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software to be updated without replacing the ECU. Flash calibration updates for specific vehicle models/ECUs are released as field-fix procedures described in individual Service Bulletins. This bulletin details the Techstream ECU flash reprogramming process and outlines use of the Technical Information System (TIS) and the Calibration Update Wizard (CUW). Flash calibration updates can only be applied to the vehicle/ECU combination for which they are intended. ECUs have internal security that will not allow them to be programmed with another ECU?s information. NOTE ECU is a Toyota term used to describe integrated computerized devices responsible for managing the operation of a system or subsystem. For the purposes of this bulletin, the term ?ECU? is used as a generic label for the following SAE J1930 standard references: ? Powertrain Control Module (PCM) ? Engine Control Module (ECM) ? Transmission Control Module (TCM) ? Any other Toyota specific control unit
T-TT-0552-192019-07-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. TT: When repairing a 1234YF HVAC system on a gas powered (Non-Hybrid) Toyota and the addition of compressor oil is required to complete the repairs, the various 1234YF compressor oils (ND-12, PS-D1, or VC100YF) are available through the Toyota Approved Dealer Equipment website.
T-SB-0071-18_Rev2019-03-18. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. TSB: REVISION NOTICE February 7, 2018 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2019 model year Avalon vehicles. ? The entire bulletin has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Some 2018 model year Camry and 2019 model year Avalon vehicles equipped with 2GR-FKS (V6) engines may exhibit a MIL ON condition with one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). ? P030000 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected) ? P030027 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected [Emission] Signal Rate of Change Above Threshold) ? P030085 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected [Over Temperature] Signal Above Allowable Range) ? P030500 (Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected) ? P030600 (Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected) ? P160500 (Rough Idling) Common characteristics when the misfire occurs are: ? High engine speed (5000 ? 6500 rpm) ? High engine load (100%+) ? Accelerator pedal position at 100% The Engine Control Module (ECM) (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module [PCM]) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.
T-TT-0521-192019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. TT: The current engine active test ?Control the Injection Mode? is not operating as desired when controlling the direct injectors manually on 2GR-FKS engines. When direct injection is started and then stopped using the active test, current ECU logic does not turn off the direct injectors and can cause DTCs P017200, P017500 and P0160300. To avoid this condition, technicians should raise engine RPM when changing back and forth between the Direct Injection and Port Injection active tests. Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles. NOTE: If the active test is used multiple times without using this procedure to raise engine RPM, it may be necessary to reset learning values for fuel trim and Air to Fuel ratio before returning vehicle to customer.
T-TT-0512-182018-12-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. TT: On 2018-2019 model year Camry and 2019 model year Avalon, equipped with the 2GR-FKS engine, technicians may observe that the bank 1 (rear) exhaust manifold may be ?missing? a stud and nut. The repair manual shows that, as per design intent, the exhaust manifold is NOT missing a stud and nut.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
