Service bulletins for the 2017 Tesla Model 3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
154 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| SB-19-32-001 | 2019-07-08. Service bulletin. STEERING. On a certain few Model 3 vehicles, the steering shaft sleeve diameter is too large, and might preload the steering shaft boot bearing so as to cause a squeaking noise to come from the steering shaft boot when the steering wheel is turned. The squeaking noise is most prevalent at lower ambient temperatures, and might diminish as the temperature rises. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not affect steering functionality. |
