Service bulletins for the 2017 Porsche Panamera

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Bulletins, newest first
122-H3T9C-022018-02-12. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Concern: Abrupt, ?Harsh? Gear Shift Changes, particularly in first and second gears Information: Rough gear changes with unmatched engine and transmission revs can be attributed to an unadapted PDK. Transmission performance issues characterized by unmatched, abrupt shifts, particularly in first and second gears may require a driving adaption. Prior to the adaption drive, update PDK Software using the latest PT3G Version and perform a calibration. Successful calibration of the PDK is a prerequisite for the adaption drive.

122-T7Y5Q-122017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Information: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A.

Subject: Wire harness for PASMvalve unit Information: The wire harness for the PASM valve unit is not routed correctly in the area around the heat protection panels for the valve unit on the affected vehicles. Due to relative movements while driving and if significant amounts of dirt get in, this can cause chafing on the wire harness and as a result, faults can be entered in the fault memory and the warning "Chassis system fault" may be displayed in the instrument cluster. As a result, the vehicle level can no longer be set.
122-K2J2Y-082017-10-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Subject: Front air bellows Symptom: After the vehicle has been parked for a long time at temperatures below 5° F (-15° C), the chassis can be lowered fully at the front axle.
122-W6E3D-032017-10-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. No cooling in the passenger compartment. NOTE: A low state of charge of the High Voltage Battery can cause the AC to be deactivated until the state of charge increases to an adequate level. Customers who do not plug their vehicle in on a regular basis may have this issue. There are two shut off valves in the refrigeration circuit. 1. The chiller shut off valve is normally open and requires 12V be applied to it from the AC control unit to close it. This would stop cooling of the high voltage battery. a. Power and ground from the AC CU can be checked at the connector of the valve. 2. The evaporator shut off valve is normally closed and requires 12V to be applied to it, via a relay, in order for the valve to open and provide cooling to the passenger compartment. a. The evaporator shut off valve can be diagnosed easily by removing the relay and jumping the load contacts of the relay to see if power makes it to the valve. Power at the valve opens it and the evaporator gets cold with normal AC operation. b. The relay winding circuit can be tested for power and ground from the AC CU.
122-H3J6J-102017-10-15. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Subject: Lower control arms on the front axle Information: Bearings for the lower control arms on the front axle with an unfavorablematerial pairing were fitted on the affected vehicles.
