| 122-A6Z3V-03 | 2018-03-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Subject: Intake valves and intake ports Information: Carboned-up valves in the engine can be reworked and cleaned using cleaning equipment. If there is a complaint about knocking combustion, e.g. during acceleration at high load, the condition of the intake valves and portsmust be checked before doing any other work. If the check shows that the intake valves and intake ports have carbon deposits and are dirty, they must be cleaned using the VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit. There should be no need to replace the components. Date of Introduction: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit can be ordered immediately for dealers. Remedial Action: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit is used for cleaning carboned-up intake valves and intake ports. Compressed air is used to spray a special granulatemixture into the intake port, where it loosens and removes carbon build-up. The dirty granulate is extracted during spraying using an industrial vacuum cleaner. |

| 122-L7P4X-03 | 2018-03-13. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE); POWER TRAIN. The "transfer case" is designed as an active all-wheel drive system that is dynamically adapted to the respective driving state. Power transmission between the front and rear axle is controlled electronically via the "all-wheel drive servomotor (transfer case)" and themulti-plate clutches integrated in the transfer case. ? On all-wheel drive vehicles, the drive train can become strained at low speeds and when the steering is turned sharply when "Off-roadmode" is activated, depending on design. ? Under extreme conditions, the drive train can also become strained when "Off-roadmode" is deactivated. ? Customers with little experience with all-wheel drive vehicles can interpret this behavior as a fault, which in turn can result in incorrect diagnoses in the workshop. Remedial action: Customer complaint to be checked: ? Rough-running engine or ? thevehicle vibrates or ? theengine jerks under load/during acceleration. |
| 122-F8U4Z-02 | 2018-02-12. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Subject: Air-conditioning control unit (also control panel/switch console) Symptom: When starting the vehicle, an unsuitable air conditioning setting is preset in the rear air-conditioning control unit. Only air conditioning settings from driver's key 1 are stored and applied to all other driver's keys. Cause: The last air conditioning settings from driver's keys 2-4 cannot be read out quickly enough. The last stored setting from driver's key 1 is used. |
| 122-E9N4X-01 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Optimized software for Porsche Communication Management (PCM) 4.0 has been used in standard production in order to further improve the general performance of the system. These optimizations must be implemented retrospectively even for vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction. Action Required: ? Update PCM software using an SD card ? Re-code the PCM using PIWIS Tester test software version 34.800.030 (or higher |
| 122-X2M2D-01 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Symptom: Symptom 1: Right headlight has interior condensation. Symptom 2: One or both headlights has/have interior condensation Remedial action 1: The breather hose 95B.941.560.B (without corrugated hose) must be replaced by the breather hose 95B.941.560.C (with corrugated hose). It is important to check that the breather hose is routed without kinks. |
| 122-E2U9F-05 | 2017-12-22. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HOOD:LATCH. Information: The upper front hood latches have a fine adjustment not mentioned in the workshop manual. A fine adjustment to change the depth of the upper latch striker may be made at the bolt shown in the photo above. This is a useful adjustment for front latch issues that cause a warning in the instrument cluster for the front hood being open as well as fine tuning the closed height of the hood. |
| 122-Z3L6M-05 | 2017-12-22. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Concern: Fault P0299 stored in the DME Information: Fault P0299 is stored when the actual boost level deviates from the specified boost level for greater than 3 seconds. Anything that can cause incorrect boost levels will set this fault, such as leaks in the intake/intercooler system, leaks in the boost control system (i.e. vacuum lines to the diverter valves, pressure converter and vacuum reservoir). All possible fault causes outlined in Guided Fault Finding MUST be addressed. If all of the possible causes are ruled out, then program the DME with PIWIS II software version 15.500 or higher. Some diagnostic hints: Check the freeze frame data of the fault. If the fault occurred at: <2500rpm/<60% engine load, this is most likely a software issue >2500rpm/>60% engine load, this is most likely a hardware issue (i.e. vacuum leak in a boost control line, or disconnected boost hose) |
| 122-T7Y5Q-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Information: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A. |
| 122-H5C4J-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR/TONE RING. Information: It is possible that a faulty wheel speed sensor can be the root cause of the multiple warnings. Check the fault memory for the following types of faults for one or more wheel speed sensors. * Sensor Fault * Sensor Electrical Fault * Sensor Implausible Fault |
| 122-N9F6H-01 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Information: The customer complains that certain functions of the front camera are not available at times: * Lane Change Assist not available * Porsche Dynamic Light System not available * Traffic sign recognition not available Cause: Image sensor fault in the front camera. Insufficient contrast causes certain functions to fail at times. |
| 122-L6Q4X-01 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Symptom: The engine will not start at times and the fault code P0607 Control unit faulty is stored in the fault memory. Cause: The DME control unit can become damaged via the electric wires as a result of electrostatic discharge of the throttle housing. Date of Introduction: The optimized throttle housing with insulation has been installed during production since August 24, 2016. |
| 122-X5B2V-10 | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Due to incorrect fitting of the front hood lock cable, there is a possibility that the cable will rub against the microswitch for the hood lock. This will damage the microswitch. As a result, the warning "Hood open" will be displayed in the instrument cluster. |
| 122-F2N6V-10 | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. There is a possibility that the front anti-roll bar on the affected vehicles was fitted with connecting links froma defective batch on which themounting bushes can move out of the mounting eyes. This can cause rattling noises and can subsequently cause the anti-roll bar to stop working. If this happens, vehicle handling may be impaired, resulting in oversteering of the vehicle, for example. Check connecting links (lower) on the front anti-roll bar and replace them if necessary. |
| 122-E4S5M-11 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The maps will be updated for the first time in theMap Update service using an SD card as part of this workshop campaign. |
| 122-G9R4C-11 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. In the course of annual model improvements, various functionalities of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system have been enhanced, optimisations have been implemented and the general performance of the system has been further improved at the same time. These function enhancements and optimisations must be implemented retrospectively even for vehicles manufactured before the model improvement measures were introduced. To this end, the PCM software will be updated on the affected vehicles using an SD card. Due to the changes to the PCM, the instrument cluster must also be re-programmed using the PIWIS Tester in order to ensure consistency between the displays in PCM and the instrument cluster. |
| 122-F5N4C-11 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Incorrect coding of vehicle data. The coding "9WU" = MIRRORLINK + RSE PREPARATION was set at the factory. ?Apple CarPlay? works when the coding is changed to "9WT" = MIRRORLINK (CARPLAY/GAL). |

| 122-T8T3K-10 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Information: In certain driving situations, the transmission only switches from 1st to 2nd gear at a significantly higher engine speed when selector-lever position "D" is engaged. |
| 122-B3Y9V-10 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Concern: Coding failures of the instrument cluster. Information: Ensure the Auto Memory option is deselected prior to replacing or coding an Instrument Cluster on all Macan models. Due to the numerous options and software available to support those options, coding faults can occur. To turn off Auto Memory through the Instrument Cluster; Select Setting-> Locking-> Auto Memory. If the vehicle is not equipped with Auto Memory, no work around is necessary. |
| 122-B7U4T-05 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Customer Concern: Certain vehicle systems have unwanted, unpredictable behavior. Technical Concern: The symptoms are difficult to diagnose. There may be multiple symptoms intermittently affecting multiple systems. Though this is not an exhaustive list, some common failure modes are: ? Start/stop issues ? Power windows not fully returning to the parked position after automatic preopening ? PCM audio stopping during a start/stop cycle Ultimately, the technician determines that low 12-volt battery voltage is the underlying root cause of the unwanted behavior. The technician corrects the battery?s low voltage. Consequently, the unwanted behavior ends. |
| 122-C3Z7L-04 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Customer Concern: Vehicle has an issue that ends up requiring a wheel alignment. Technical Concern: The VAS 6918 adapters may be confused, resulting in an improper alignment. Service Information: There are two different diameter collars to use on the adapter. The smaller diameter collar is for the Macan (VAS 6918/3) and the larger diameter collar is for all other vehicles without center locks. |
| 122-N4G6E-09 | 2017-09-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STEERING. Symptom: Customers complain about disturbing noises coming from the footwell area on the driver's side while steering. Cause: The surface of the foam rubber seal in the sealing sleeves starts to wear and crumble due to high temperatures. This effect causes the reported noise. Remedial Action: In the event of a customer complaint on a vehicle that: * was produced before the date of introduction (June 02, 2016), replace the existing intermediate steering shaft with a new, modified intermediate steering shaft with felt ring, see Workshop Manual - Workshop Manual '482819 Removing and installing intermediate steering shaft', * was produced after the date of introduction (June 02, 2016) or was already replaced by the new type of intermediate steering shaft (with felt ring), |
| 122-H7B7W-09 | 2017-09-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Information: Very small leaks may not be found on a normal inspection. Extra effort to locate these leaks is required. |
