| 20V568000 | 2020-09-21. STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS. Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2020 Nova Bus LFS transit buses. Certain power steering pipes from the rear engine bay to the front gear box may separate at the connection joint. This may cause a power steering assist lost and power steering fluid may leak from the ceiling into the passenger compartment. |
2024-10-29. Engine. Issue: On certain transit buses, the engine heat exchanger hose may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, coolant could leak and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A bus that is disabled could result in a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to replace the heat exchanger hose.
|---|---|
2024-09-09. Heater And Defroster. Issue: On certain transit buses, dirt and moisture could enter the air intake and cause the controller for the auxiliary heater to short circuit. If this happens, the windshield defrost system may not work properly. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create a fire risk. A windshield defroster that doesn't work could cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to repair the auxiliary heater air intake.
2024-07-08. Visual System. Issue: On certain transit buses, the windshield wipers may not have been aligned properly and could cause the wiper blades to become damaged. If this happens, the windshield wipers may not work properly. Safety Risk: Windshield wipers that don't work properly could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to realign the windshield wipers.
2023-06-14. Electrical. Issue: Under certain conditions, road debris could build up on the fuse holder for the electric cooling fans. If this happens, the fuse holder could short circuit and overheat. Safety Risk: An overheated fuse holder could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. Nova Bus recommends an inspection for debris accumulation in the fuse holder area and cleaning as required. Also, Nova Bus recommends that you should inspect the fuse holder for heat damage (melting) before driving and to shut off the manual power disconnect switch when the vehicle is parked.
2023-05-05. Visual System. Issue: On certain buses, the convex passenger-side exterior rearview mirror may not be curved enough. If fitted with a convex passenger-side mirror, Canadian regulations require a minimum and maximum curvature radius of the mirror surface. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect safety, as the visibility out of the vehicle is not limited by the non-compliant mirror assembly. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Nova Bus has made production changes to ensure that all new buses have compliant convex passenger-side rear-view mirrors.
2022-11-15. Steering. Issue: On certain buses, the fasteners securing the steering gearbox mounting plate may loosen and possibly fall out. If this happens, the steering gearbox could move and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus advises not to drive affected buses until a corrective measure is performed. Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide new steering gearbox mounting plate fasteners and instructions for how to replace them.
2022-06-13. Electrical. Issue: On certain transit buses, the electric fuse holder for the radiator fans in the engine compartment could corrode and overheat. Safety Risk: An overheated fuse holder could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners in writing and provide them with directions for cleaning the fuse holder and applying an anti-corrosion coating.
2021-03-09. Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain transit buses, the stop lamps and tail lamps are located too high above the ground. Canadian regulations provide a maximum mounting height for the stop lamps and tail lamps. Safety Risk: Stop lamps and tail lamps that are mounted too high may cause reduced visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide them with directions for changing the mounting position of the stop and tail lamps.
