Complaint Some MY2019 Amazon Sprinters have a customer-specific 'Driver Alert' Parameterizable Special Module (PSM) software that monitors signals from multiple sensors and outputs audible and visual feedback if the proper parking procedure has not been performed by the driver. This customer-specific software was developed and approved by Mercedes-Benz and Amazon to enhance driver and pedestrian safety based on Amazon's specific customer use case. Amazon Driver Alert PSM software works in parallel with, and does NOT supersede or interfere with any Mercedes- Benz Recalls or Service Campaigns. Amazon Driver Alert PSM software is ONLY available for Model Year 2019 Amazon Sprinters that are currently operated by an official representative of Amazon or Amazon DSP, it is NOT available for ANY other model year or customer (NOT available for ex-Amazon vans that have been sold at auction). The information within this LI is provided so you are able to: • Install Amazon Driver Alert PSM software on a MY2019 Amazon Sprinter (ONLY when requested by an official representative of Amazon or Amazon DSP). • Perform the necessary vehicle function checks that are required for Amazon Driver Alert PSM software to function properly. • Re-install Amazon Driver-Alert PSM software when software was inadvertently over-written and lost, or when PSM hardware replacement is necessary. • Utilize the PSM function descriptions to assist with your diagnosis of vehicle malfunctions that may create unique customer concerns. |

| LI14.30-N-075882 | 2023-03-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Complaint Check engine warning light active. Fault code P300CA8 or P300CA9 "Hot film mass air flow sensor malfunction" is present in engine control unit. Cause a) In the case of fault P300CA8: • Due to incorrectly installed component parts of the clean air line between the air filter box and the exhaust gas turbocharger, it is possible that leaks may occur in the system which subsequently result in air mass faults • A fouled air filter or leaks in the intake or charge air system downstream of the exhaust gas turbocharger may also cause these faults. b) In the case of fault P300CA9: • Computational model for programmed values of air intake, in particular, for the high load mode, calculates this high load correction programmed value incorrectly. This leads to the programmed value drifting too quickly towards the limit. Remedy Install the following add-ons: 18937 for XENTRY 12/2020 18938 for XENTRY 03/2021 |
| LI03.10-N-075843 | 2023-03-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Complaint Engine runs irregularly and it shakes. Indicator lamp lights up. Information: Fault codes for injectors and/or combustion misfires may be stored in the CDI control unit: • On engine 642 cylinder 6 is affected. • On engine 651 cylinder 2 is affected. Cause Charge air from the exhaust gas recirculation is condensed after being introduced into the charge air section. Information: Under certain operating conditions, condensation that has collected in the charge air cooler can enter the combustion chamber to a damaging degree and a damage profile is then generated (connecting rod bent). Remedy Perform following testing and diagnosis operations |
| LI00.19-N-075749 | 2023-02-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint Various issues including control unit programming procedure will not complete successfully/no newer software found, communication faults, or sporadic malfunction of systems. Cause Aftermarket CAN device could be installed into the vehicle's CAN network. Such devices can be but are not limited to, remote start modules, CAN blockers, or high idle modules. Remedy A successful control unit programming session cannot be ensured while aftermarket devices are connected to the vehicle's CAN network. Some of the device companies supply a bypass to allow control unit programming. |

Cause Stepper motor linkage in the heater case may cause a mechanical fault during actuation during unfavorable environmental conditions. NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with H13 (rear additional heat exchanger), There is an additional stepper motor in the rear heater case under the vehicle. This stepper motor can influence the normalization process. May include fault code: B1A9C07 the output for control valve "Left water valve" has a malfunction. There is a mechanical fault. The component is called N29/12 (rear additional heat exchanger ) . Remedy: See instructions |
| LI54.71-N-075673 | 2023-01-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint Distronic and/or Active Brake Assist inoperative after driving for an extended period Cause Blindness detection of the radar sensor. When driving for extended periods in areas with few or no objects for the radar sensor to detect, the radar sensor switches off due to the self-test and sets fault code C174AFB - The adjustment of the 'Active Brake Assist' control unit has malfunctioned. Remedy • Check the area of the front radar for damage. • Check whether fault code "C174AFB - The adjustment of the 'Active Brake Assist' control unit has malfunctioned" is set in the B92 or B92/1 Active Brake Assist/Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC (ABA/DTR) (FCW177) control unit. • If the fault code is present, check the vertical actual values. • If these are not OK, please correct the value with inspection of installation position or calibration of installation height (see attachment 2021 NDTD_Vans_Radar Sensor for best practices and functionality info) • If the actual values are OK, please update the software. |
