Service bulletins for the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLE

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

LI91.29-P-0805542026-05-15. Service bulletin. SEATS. Complaint One or more seat functions are restricted or inoperative. This may include: • Seat memory • Automatic seat adjustment • Easy Entry/Exit • Head restraint presetting • Collision avoidance with bench seat at rear • Actuation by other vehicle systems Seat normalization is missing, and fault code B228678 – “The control unit calibration has been lost or was not performed. Adaptation or adjustment is not correct.” is stored in the seat control unit. Additional fault codes may also be present. Cause The condition is currently under investigation. Remedy Process any additional faults first. • If a clear cause is found (for example, a failed component, wiring issue, or connector concern), repair that issue as required. If no root cause can be determined: • Do NOT perform Initial Start-up, Software Update, or Normalization of the Control Unit • Create a control unit log for the affected seat control unit. • Open a TIPS case to the Body/Chassis/Entertainment inboxand attach the control unit log for further analysis.
LI91.10-P-0760972026-05-04. Service bulletin. SEATS. Complaint Play/noise at height adjuster or in seat guide rail on front seats Cause Tolerances and variations in the manufacturing process Remedy 1. Inspect Seat Height Adjuster Barcode Label (See Pic.1) • Locate the barcode label on the cross tube of the seat height adjuster. • In isolated cases, the barcode label may be located on the front side of the cross tube. If not visible, remove the seat cushion to access the label. 2. Evaluate Production Status If Production Status is LOWER than E108 → Replace the seat frame base with the height adjuster motor. If Production Status is E108 or HIGHER → Do NOT replace parts. Please submit a TIPS case to the Body/Chassis/Entertainment inbox and attach: • Video of the noise concern • Photo of the barcode label To improve analysis quality, ensure the video meets the following criteria: • Seat installed in the vehicle • Quiet workshop environment • Steady and smooth camera movement • Good lighting on the suspected noise area • Recording with two people (one filming, while the other is creating the noise-causing movement) • Noise‑causing movement must be clearly visible • Camera position: From the rear footwell, looking forward at the front seat • Verbal explanation included in English or German
LI82.00-P-0800292026-03-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. Complaint The seat may no longer be adjustable using the electric seat adjustment switch on the door module. No related error is stored in the quick test. Cause Under certain conditions, the electric seat adjustment switch may remain in sleep mode. It is then not possible to adjust the seat using this switch. This is a software error. Remedy To restore functionality, perform the following steps: 1. Remove the door trim from the affected door. 2. Unplug and reconnect the plug of the electric seat adjustment switch (No. 2 in the picture in work instruction AR91.29-P-2522WT) to perform a reset of the switch. Note: The switch does not need to be removed for this. 3. To prevent this problem from recurring, the current software version A2239029930 should be installed on the switch module “Seat Adjustment Switch Group …”. Example: S22 - Select S22 – “Seat Adjustment Switch Group, front left” (SSE-VL) → Adaptations → Control unit update → Update control unit software. If the vehicle already has SW version A2239029930, there is another cause. Please open a TIPS case to the Body/Chassis/Entertainment inbox if the issue persists with the new software installed.
