15-001-17-3301a2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some vehicles with Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) may experience the following conditions (similar to when the BSM control modules detect dirt on the rear bumper surface): DTC U1A4B:97 - Radar sensor sensitivity temporarily decreases depending on various external and environmental factors (blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH)), DTC U3000:97 - Radar sensor sensitivity temporarily decreases depending on various external and environmental factors (blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH)), The BSM turns ?OFF? and the BSM OFF indicator turns ?ON? in the instrument cluster while driving, The BSM will not turn on again during the drive cycle, After cycling the ignition switch off and on again, the BSM operates normally, DTC U1A4B:97 or U3000:97 is stored in memory. To correct this problem, the control logic of the BSM control modules has been changed.

All Mazda Connect vehicles in new car inventory must be updated to this software version listed below in this TSB as part of the New Car Ready Step 3 process. Make sure the new vehicle specialist receives a copy of this bulletin. Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 59.00.502 or later). NOTE: For 2016 CX-9 with version earlier than 59.00.441, the tachometer function will removed from the Active Driving Display as part of Mazda?s continuing efforts to improve safety and reduce driver distraction. Please explain this to the customer before updating the software. If the customer agrees, turn off the tachometer display on the AD-Display tab in MAZDA CONNECT Settings before performing the update. NOTE: If the customer has customized MAZDA CONNECT with something like a different background using unauthorized software, make sure they know the following information before updating MAZDA CONNECT to avoid any issues later on.
09-031-17-33682017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some vehicles may exhibit the driver and/or passenger side tension band(s) (A) hanging down from the convertible top. Upon inspection, the plastic plate (A) of tension band is broken where it is riveted to the header panel (B). This is caused by insufficient strength of the plastic plate. To correct this issue, the configuration of the tension band will be changed to increase the strength. NOTE: The header panel is shown with the fabric top removed.
09-022-17-33402017-10-21. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak noise at the rear beltline when the door glass moves up and/or down. This concern happens especially when the door glass is wet with moisture or after a car wash. This is caused by stick-slip noise occurring at the contact surfaces between the door glass and the weather strip. With repeated moving up and down, the anti-noise paint on the weather strip peels off. To prevent the stick-slip noise, a polyester film has been attached at the applicable location of the weatherstrip.
09-020-17-33422017-10-21. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some vehicles may exhibit rust (A) on the front door quarter glass guide (B) where it contacts the door beltline molding (C). The paint on the quarter glass guide gets damaged from vibration when the door is closed and when driving. This concern is caused by the beltline molding contacting the quarter glass guide due to production variances. To correct this concern, a spacer has been attached at the contact area to assure an appropriate clearance between the beltline molding and the quarter glass guide.
05-001-17-3309b2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION. Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms with the manual transmission. It is impossible to shift into 2nd and/or 3rd gear while there is no problem shifting into other gears. This may be caused by damage to 2nd and/or 3rd gears if the vehicle was driven with rapid acceleration and deceleration using frequent shift changes. To eliminate this concern, the configuration of the 2nd and 3rd gears has been changed to increase the rigidity. NOTE: Transmissions with the serial No. ?6TJ0701679? or higher are modified.
