Service bulletins for the 2016 Mazda MX-5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

09-026-22a2022-11-04. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS:FRONT:WARNING LIGHT/DEVICES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain that the front passenger seat belt warning light flashes and the seat belt warning beep is activated, even though there is no occupant in the front passenger seat. When a passenger seat occupant sits with a load on the front side for a long time with the seat warmer on, the occupancy sensor becomes dented and sensitive. As a result, the sensor determines that there is an occupant in the front passenger seat even though the seat is empty.
08-001-21-37902021-04-05. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS. Some vehicles may experience a seat belt that retracts slowly. This is caused by the seat belt, seat belt guide and seat belt anchor (A) accumulating dust and dirt from hands and/or from the outside when driving with the top down. An increase in friction makes the seat belt retraction difficult. Keeping the seat belts clean will prevent this from happening.
08-001-172021-01-25. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS. Some customer may complain that the seat belt comes out of the seat belt gudde when the seat belt retracts as shown because the shape of the seat belt guide is inadequate.
SA-027-182018-07-02. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION; SEAT BELTS:FRONT:WARNING LIGHT/DEVICES. Some customers may complain that the passenger seat belt warning light is ON and the PASS AIRBAG OFF indicator light is OFF with no front passenger in the seat. This may be caused by an electrical device (smart phone, tablet, laptop. etc.) placed on the front passenger's seat.
08-002-16-32002017-02-28. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS:FRONT:RETRACTOR. SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMPLAIN THAT THE SEAT BELT COMES OUT OF THE SEAT BELT GUIDE WHEN THE SEAT BELT RETRACTS AS SHOWN BECAUSE THE SHAPE OF THE SEAT BELT GUIDE IS INADEQUATE.TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THE SHAPE OF THE SEAT BELT GUIDE HAS BEEN CHANGED.
08-003-16-32252017-02-22. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS:FRONT:RETRACTOR.
