Service bulletins for the 2021 Mazda Mazda6

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

301 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices.

As a reminder, dealers have 90 days, after the order is placed, to return the exchanged part. Failure to return the exchanged part will result in a debit of the full component price. It is highly recommended to set a calendar reminder at the time of the order for no more than 60 days to ensure all orders are returned if repaired and if not repaired, contact the customer to cancel the order and return the unit.

SA-044-232023-08-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Some customers have reported experiencing a one-time popping or clunking sound while driving their vehicle. The noise is most noticeable when duplicating the driving conditions of going up or down an incline while simultaneously making a turn. NOTE: For Mazda6 vehicles, the noise may only be heard once per day. To reproduce the concern, allow the vehicle to sit overnight and then drive it. The noise has been traced to the front stabilizer (sway bar) bushings and the recommended action is the following repair information (if the noise can be duplicated). NOTE: The repair itself is not complex, but accurately replicating the concern may require additional time. To minimize inconvenience to the customer, ensure that they are provided with a loaner vehicle while the diagnosis and repair take place.
SA-037-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A new cylinder head assembly for service parts has been newly established for SKYACTIV-G 2.5 with cylinder deactivation when replacement is needed. Valves, valve springs, valve spring seats, and cotters (IN/EX) are included in the new assembly. Dealers can now utilize the Limited Parts Ordering (LPO) page on eMDCS to order the repair parts for 2.5L (with cylinder deactivation) and 2.5L turbo cylinder head repairs. Hotline and MASH authorization is not required to order parts for performing this repair. If there are any questions on part ordering or part status, contact the DAG group for assistance.
SA-036-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Interior parts made of resin have antistatic coating to prevent dust from sticking on the surfaces, and depending on the conditions of use, the antistatic components may crystallize slightly, giving an appearance of white stains on the surface. To remove the stains, wipe the stained surface with a towel soaked with water mixed with a small portion of a neutral detergent. If the white stains reappear again, simply wipe them again in the same way. NOTE: The antistatic effect does not deteriorate with this procedure.
SA-035-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. This concern may be due to a loose or detached hood weatherstrip, which can cause a blockage or restriction in the air intake system.
SA-008-23a2023-07-05. Service bulletin. TIRES; WHEELS. Some vehicles may exhibit a steering shimmy or body vibration during the PDI test drive or during the first few miles of driving after the vehicle has been delivered to the customer due to flat spots on the tires. Flat spots on tires may be caused by improper maintenance during dealer storage (e.g.: Vehicle was left stationary for a prolonged period of time in high ambient temperatures).

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
