Service bulletins for the 2024 Mazda Mazda3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SA-031-242024-06-04. Other. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This service information provides testing and charging procedures in order to promote proper battery maintenance, to deliver new vehicles with fully charged batteries, and to reduce unnecessary battery replacement cost. For new vehicles in stock at the dealer, inspect and maintain the batteries periodically according to the repair procedure.
SA-036-242024-06-04. Other. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may complain about color discrepancies (brightness differences) of the image displayed on the screen when using the 360°view monitor. As this phenomenon is not a system failure, do not make any repairs or replace any parts. Explain the cause of this occurrence to the customer as follows: The 360°view monitor is a system that provides a complete picture of the vehicle surroundings by combining the pictures captured by 4 separate cameras. These cameras are installed in the front, rear, right and left sides of the vehicle. Each camera has a color adjustment function (white balance) that operates independently from each other, which can result in color discrepancy when the combined picture is displayed on the screen. This is especially true when one of the cameras captures more green objects than the remaining cameras.
SA-035-242024-06-04. Other. ENGINE. There is a concern that some water pumps are being replaced that are not faulty, due to signs of a very small coolant leak from the bleed hole. This Service Alert is to inform you about the water pump sealing mechanism and the criteria if replacement is necessary or not.
09-002-24a2024-06-04. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS. Some customers may complain that the warning sound in the passenger compartment (notifies i-ACTIVSENSE warnings, seat belt warning etc.) is too loud. Some of the volume settings in the notification and warning amplifier are not properly set. The control software of the notification and warning amplifier has been modified to eliminate this concern.
07-003-24a2024-06-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers may complain that the ambient temperature on the instrument cluster is displayed more than 50 °F (10 °C) lower than the actual temperature, resulting in insufficient performance of the air conditioning. This is caused by inappropriate soldering in the ambient temperature sensor. To eliminate this concern, the soldering process has been enhanced at the supplier.
SA-021-24a2024-06-03. Other. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may complain about intermittent audio no sound from the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system and/or static noise from the speakers. The concern may be reproduced by tapping on the dash pad near the MAZDA CONNECT center display and the following DTC's may be stored. U0186:08 Communication error with audio amplifier U2145:08 Communication error with remote tuner (RT) U2145:02 Communication error with remote tuner (RT)
09-029-242024-06-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience the rear audio subwoofer sound pauses intermittently at a high volume level. When the volume level is lowered, the subwoofer audio sound returns to normal. The actual volume level where the concern occurs may vary depending on the audio source. If the audio source consists of many low frequency (40 - 70 Hz) sounds, the concern may occur at volume level 35 or higher. This concern is due to the improper control software of the audio amplifier (Bose® audio system). To eliminate this concern, the control software has been modified.
09-027-242024-06-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may experience that after the doors are locked and the Fuel Door Lock Delay with MAZDA CONNECT has passed (default setting is 90 seconds), the fuel-filler lid does not lock, but can be opened when pressed. NOTE: The fuel-filler lid does not lock immediately after the doors are locked, but after the time set in the Fuel Door Lock Delay (0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 seconds). Although the root cause has not been identified, the vehicle should be repaired by adjusting the fuel-filler lid opener cable position when there is a customer complaint.
SA-022-242024-05-04. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Some automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. The damaged area has the appearance of dark stains or discoloration.
SA-017-24a2024-05-04. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some customers may complain about any of the following: 1. 07-003-242024-05-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER.
SA-024-242024-05-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A tapping/rattling noise may be noticed from the valve train area. This operating condition can occur on new vehicles which have been delivered to Mazda dealers (due to loading and unloading from transport trucks or customers moving their vehicles in and out of their garages to wash the vehicle, etc.). This condition may also occur if the engine is not allowed to warm up after multiple cold starts.

09-024-242024-05-04. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience that the liftgate or the trunk lid will not unlock even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. If the engine is running (POWER ON) or the ignition is turned to on (READY ON), it will unlock. It may sound as if it is coming from the dashboard, but it is coming from the hood prop rod (aka lock-bonnet stay). The prop rod diameter was increased in November 2022 production, but in some circumstances, the noise may still be encountered in vehicles after this production range.
