Service bulletins for the 2020 Mazda Mazda3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 15-002-20-3719 | 2020-09-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES. Some vehicles equipped with Smart Brake Support (SBS) may exhibit a front radar system malfunction message in the instrument cluster with DTC C1A67:04 (front radar sensor internal malfunction) stored in memory. This may be caused by water penetrating into the front radar sensor through the breather hole when exposed to a great amount of water and damaging the radar sensor, resulting in the DTC C1A67:04. To eliminate this concern, the front radar sensor has been modified. |
| 01-010-20-3706 | 2020-09-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some customers may experience a no start because the battery is discharged after the vehicle is parked for more than 8 hours. This may be caused by one or more of the following, resulting in excessive parasitic draw (dark current) on the battery. 1. The vehicle control system may not have gone to sleep because a key fob was left in the vehicle after the ignition switch was turned off and the doors were closed. This is caused by improper BCM control logic which allows a higher parasitic draw (approx. 6A) to continue for approximately 6 minutes until the vehicle control system goes into sleep mode. If the doors are operated frequently for car washing or luggage loading/unloading etc., it prevents the vehicle control system from sleeping during that time. 2. The parking lights may have been left on because the warning sound for lights on is a short ding, and it may not be noticed. 3. [With Full-Auto A/C] The heater control unit may not have gone to sleep because the hazard warning switch was pressed after the ignition was turned off. This is caused by improper control logic of the heater control unit. |
| DRW29 | 2020-08-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. DRW29 - 2020 CX-3, CX-30, CX-5, CX-9, MAZDA6 AND MAZDA3 - SECOND PDI OF ALLOCATED FLEET VEHICLES: Concern Outline: There are 597 vehicles contained in this DRW, and all had a paid Pre-Delivery Inspection performed at the port and were to be used as fleet vehicles. These vehicles have since been reallocated to dealerships and due to significant idle time prior to arriving at dealers, the vehicle should have a new Pre-Delivery Inspection performed in order to support a perfect delivery to the customer. |
| SA-057-20 | 2020-08-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some customers may complain that the HVAC system blows hot air on occasion (blows cold air, then hot air, then cold air again). The customer may notice that it is more pronounced when they first start driving the vehicle and/or when accelerating. |
| SA-004-20b | 2020-08-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL. In order to ensure key code security, MNAO has restricted key code access for the new auxiliary key. | MT-001-20 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal Workshop Manual diagnosis. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Ask the customer if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Below are a couple of examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices. |
| 16-002-20-3722 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH; EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. When the vehicle is in sleep mode, some customers may experience a failed remote control attempt using the MyMazda APP, however, the second attempt works fine and no DTCs are stored. Remote control functions: - Remote Engine Start/Remote Engine Stop - Remote Door Lock/Remote Door Unlock - Remote Hazard Light. This concern may be caused by improper telematics communication unit control software. To eliminate this concern, the telematics communication unit software has been modified |
| 15-002-20-3719 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: RADAR; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some vehicles equipped with Smart Brake Support (SBS) may exhibit a front radar system malfunction message in the instrument cluster with DTC C1A67:04 (front radar sensor internal malfunction) stored in memory. This may be caused by water penetrating into the front radar sensor through the breather hole and damaging the radar sensor, resulting in the DTC C1A67:04. To eliminate this concern, the front radar sensor has been modified. |
| 09-023-20-3723 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit a deformed fuel-filler lid panel (1) attached to the fuel-filler lid box, resulting in a poor appearance. This concern is caused by the lid box not having enough water drainage capability which leads to the accumulation of water inside it. The water then freezes in cold weather and expands or the inner side of the lid panel absorbs the water and swells from long exposure, deforming the lid panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the fuel-filler lid box has been modified to have better drainage capability. |
| 09-006-20-3673a | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. When encountering a vehicle with paint damage, refer to the "Mazda Paint Warranty Guide" to determine cause, prevention, remedy, and warranty coverage (if applicable). |
| 07-003-20-3712 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some customers may hear a repeating click sound when using the HVAC system. The click sound may be caused by the air mix doors moving back and forth. This concern has been eliminated by a dash-electrical supply unit control software modification. |
| 01-009-20-3710 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may complain about a very low frequency noise and/or vibration felt at the steering wheel, the floor and/or the seats when driving at 1500-1650 rpm in any gear position. This may be caused by normal vehicle behavior while the cylinder deactivation is active (two cylinders drive). The state of the cylinder deactivation can be monitored in the center display to help verify if this is the issue. WARNING: DO NOT keep your eyes focused solely on the display while test driving. For your safety, keep your eyes on the road ahead. To correct this concern, the radiator mount brackets and the control software of the PCM have been modified to reduce the resonance of the radiator. NOTE: The combination of the modified radiator mount brackets and older PCM calibration may result in worse vibration. |
