A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Popping and/or squeaking noise from front shock absorber and or creaking noise from front lower arm bushing. Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following noises from the front suspension. * A squeaking noise from the front shock absorber when turning the steering wheel at a vehicle standstill caused by stick0slip between the front strut bearing and the coil spring. * A popping noise from the front shock absorber when passing over speed bumps caused by the bump stopper cointacting the strut bearing when the shock absorber is compressed. * A creaking noise from the lower arm when driving over road bumps at 20-40 km/h caused by stick-stick-slip of the front lower arm bushing. The noise occurs when the road surface is wet or after a car washing, and becomes moare noticeable as the speed bump gets higher. * To correct these problems, the following changes have been made. * For the squeaking and popping noise, the fshape of the bump stopper has been modified and a protector has been installed onto the coil spring. * For the creaking noise, the friction of the lower arm bushing has been reduced by adding a dry coating. | SSPB6c | 2020-11-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. MAZDA CONNECT TOUCH SCREEN CONCERN WARRANTY EXTENSION SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM: Mazda Motor Corporation is extending the warranty coverage for a specific concern regarding the Mazda Connect Center Display on certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles produced from June 11, 2013 through September 3, 2016. Please refer to the Parts and Warranty page for specific production date ranges for MC and MMVO produced vehicles as they are different. Concern Outline: On certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles, the Mazda Connect touch screen in the center display may not accept touch commands properly or may operate by itself (ghost touch). The ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) film of the touch screen may be corroded due to moisture, which may adhere on the lens of the touch screen during the cleaning process at the plant. The corrosion may allow the electrostatic capacity to vary without any input, causing the malfunction of the touch screen. This warranty extension program applies only to the repair of the center display with this concern. |

Some customers may complain about an unusual noise coming from the engine compartment for about 20 seconds after a cold engine start. This noise is a normal engine operation for improved exhaust gas emissions. The noise does not indicate a malfunction. ACCELERATED WARM-UP SYSTEM (AWS): All SKYACTIV-G engines adopt AWS to reduce exhaust gas emissions immediately after a cold engine start. AWS increases the engine idling speed and retards the ignition timing for about 20 seconds after the cold engine start to quickly warm up the catalytic converter. The customer may identify the engine sound during the AWS operation as a unusual noise. |

Below are a couple of examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices. |

This is caused by inappropriate transmission internal parts. |
| 05-003-20-3725 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory (P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738). This is caused by the oil pressure switch A and/or B at the control valve body temporarily or permanently getting stuck due to contamination entering the passage. To correct the problem, some mass production changes have been implemented to reduce contamination and improve the DTC diagnostic logic. |
