| 00-003-19-3583 | 2019-03-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. In support of the new MRT distribution, Mazda will ship to dealers a new Dual Purpose Diagnostic Leak Detector beginning March, 2019. Training videos will be posted to MGSS shortly and Workshop Manual procedures will be revised gradually. |
| 01-005-19-3548 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit the check engine light on with DTC P0456 stored in the PCM memory. P0456: EVAP system leak detected (very small leak). The concern is most likely the result of the customer not getting the fuel cap completely closed after fueling the vehicle. This causes a small fuel vapor leak and turns DTC P0456 on. |
| 01-004-19-3558 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. On some vehicles, a sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor may be noticed coming from the exhaust system. The odor is usually noticed after a cold start, fast idle, extended periods of idling and full throttle acceleration. Sulfur smell is not an indication of an engine concern and will not cause reduced driveability or durability of the engine or any of its emission components. The sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor is caused by high amounts of sulfur in the gasoline being used in the vehicle. Sulfur is normally eliminated during the refining process, but the EPA regulation of sulfur in gasoline differs from state to state. Vehicles using fuel containing high amounts of sulfur will most likely emit sulfur smell from the exhaust system. When high sulfur fuel is burned, there is a chemical reaction in the catalytic converter causing the sulfur tooxidize. As the vehicle is driven, the oxidizing reaction odor in the converter will decrease with mileage and age. |
| 01-003-19-3557 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored inmemory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed. P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display "F0-002" during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km). Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 01-017-18-3518 | 2018-10-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some customers may experience a check engine light on and DTC P0401:00 stored in memory without any drivability issues. P0401:00 - [PCM] EGR flow insufficient detected. This concern may be caused by the detection logic for the DTC is too sensitive. To eliminate this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been modified. |
| 01-016-18-3522 | 2018-10-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. | MT-008-18 | 2018-10-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Some customers may complain about: Intermittent engine no start, Instrument cluster red security indicator light ON, Engine Start/Start Button Amber indicator, light flashing, Battery discharge, Electrical relay buzzing noise. This may be caused by: A key in a purse near a cell phone. The cell phone radio waves may interrupt the immobilizer system. An aftermarket cell phone charger. The charger may produce electrical noise that interrupts the immobilizer system. An aftermarket GPS tracker. Some aftermarket devices that are wired to the vehicles?s wiring harness may create unusual electrical symptoms. |
| 01-001-18-3419a | 2018-09-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE; PARKING BRAKE:DRIVELINE:HYDRAULIC:ACTUATOR. After parking the vehicle at temperatures below the freezing, some customers may experience a lack of power with the check engine light on and DTC P0638:00 and/or P2112:00 stored in memory. - P0638:00: Throttle valve actuator control range/performance problem (one drive cycle DTC) - P2112:00: Throttle valve actuator motor current range/performance problem (one drive cycle DTC) This concern may be caused by condensed water in the intake manifold entering the throttle valve. After parking at temperatures below freezing, the throttle valve may be frozen at the stand-by position, resulting in the symptom. To prevent this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been modified to avoid frozen the throttle valve (by moving the valve at a certain time after the ignition has been turned off). NOTE: With this modification, the main relay may stay on up to 90 minutes after the ignition switch is turned off. "BATTERY INSPECTION" in the Workshop Manual will be modified to properly check the battery parasitic draw after this modification. |
| MT-008-18 | 2018-08-27. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ENGINE. ENGINE NO START (KEY NOT DETECTED): Some customers may complain about the following: Intermittent engine no start, Instrument cluster red security indicator light ON, Engine Start/Start Button Amber indicator light flashing. |
| MT-007-18 | 2018-08-27. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES; ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ENGINE NO START AND / OR REAR VIEW MONITOR DISPLAY IS BLURRY DUE TO AFTERMARKET ELECTRICAL DEVICE: Some customers may complain about the following: Engine no start. A blurry rear view monitor display. This may be caused by an aftermarket accessory device. Some aftermarket electrical devices (e.g., an accessory cell phone charger) may create excessive electrical noise. The noise may interrupt some of the vehicle electrical systems. Below are a few examples of an aftermarket cell phone charger that is interrupting the vehicle electrical systems. |

| SA-026-18 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE. If a vehicle is driven on extremely short trips most of the time (where the engine never reaches normal operating temperature), the engine oil may become diluted with fuel and the engine oil level will increase. Engine oil dilution with fuel occurring under this specific driving condition is normal with direct injection engines. If the vehicle is driven on a longer trip after a lot of short trips (where the engine reaches normal operating temperature), the Check Engine Light may turn ON with DTC P0172:00 (Fuel system too rich). |
| 01-013-18-3478 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit the check engine light on with DTC P0456 stored in the PCM memory. P0456: EVAP system leak detected (very small leak)The concern is most likely the result of the customer not getting the fuel cap completely closed after fuelingthe vehicle. This causes a small fuel vapor leak and turns DTC P0456 on. |
| 01-012-18-3474 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored inmemory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed. P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input. As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. | 05-004-18-3466 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory (P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738). P0842:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 1 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on P0847:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 2 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on P0872:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 3 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on P0877:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 4 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on P0780:00 - Gear shifting malfunction P1738:00 Automatic transaxle internal malfunction This is caused by the oil pressure switch A and/or B at the control valve body temporarily or permanently getting stuck due to contamination entering the passage. To correct the problem, some mass production changes have been implemented to reduce contamination and improve the DTC diagnostic logic. NOTE: If the vehicle also has a delayed engagement concern, this TSB is not applicable. Refer to MGSS online for proper diagnosis and repair procedure. |
| 04-003-18-3455 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may report a slight clunk/bang/buzz noise or jolt from the front of the vehicle. This concern will most likely occur during the vehicles first forward movement after starting the engine. This is a normal operating noise of the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS). Do not attempt any repairs. If you encounter a customer complaint for this concern, explain that the noise comes from the ABS/TCS/DSC "Malfunction Detection Function" initial check and that there is no problem. This initial check is a necessary function to ensure the normal operation of the ABS/TCS/DSC system. It occurs when the vehicles first moves forward under the following conditions. NOTE: Some customers may describe that the noise does not occur all the time. It does occur all the time, but the sound is more likely to be heard on a slow start and not on a quick start (quick acceleration) when engine noise is louder. |
| SA-019-18 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. While inspecting turbocharger housings, you may see cracks (fractures) as shown below. The cracks do not affect engine performance or cause any noise, so replacement is NOT necessary. |
| 01-003-18-3421 | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; POWER TRAIN. Some customers may experience a lack of power with no warning lights illuminated and no related DTCs stored. This concern most likely occurs when the fuel temperature is high and during situations where high power is required. This concern may be caused when the learning value for the low pressure fuel pump exceeds a certain level and the PCM limits engine power to avoid a lack of fuel injection. Even if the low pressure fuel pump has a problem, no DTCs are stored. To eliminate this concern, the PCM control logic has been modified not to limit engine power. After this modification, DTCs P0192:00 or P0087:00 are stored when the fuel injection amount is insufficient. P0192:00 - High fuel pressure sensor circuit low input P0087:00 - High fuel pressure sensor circuit range/performance problem. |
| MT-021-17 | 2018-02-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Some vehicles may experience the Check Engine Light ON with DTC P0171 (Fuel Trim too Lean) and possibly DTCs P030X (Misfire). Vehicles having this concern should use the following Inspection/Repair procedure. |
