Service bulletins for the 2017 Mazda CX-5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

To eliminate this concern, the PLG rear switch has been modified with a waterproof connector. Some Mazda3, CX-30 and MX-30 customers may complain that the vehicle door locking system does not work when the door lock switch on the liftgate interior trim is pressed. DTC B11C4:23 (BCM - liftgate lock switch circuit malfunction) may be stored. This may be caused during a high pressure car wash and/or condensation. Water may enter through the rear center brand emblem base component and drip onto the switch connector causing corrosion. The rusted connector may also cause a battery drain. To eliminate this concern, the rear center brand emblem base has been modified to prevent water entry (Mazda3) and the rear harness has been modified to prevent water infiltration (Mazda3, CX-30 and MX-30).
