Service bulletins for the 2021 Mazda CX-3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SA-035-23 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. Some customers may complain that the frequency of replenishing the window washer liquid is higher than expected, or they may complain of leakage at or around the washer motor (1). This is caused by a crack that may occur at the joint section of the washer motor housing due to an inappropriate assembly process. To eliminate this concern, the design of the washer motor has been modified to not have a joint section. | SA-032-23 | 2023-06-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices. |
| SA-031-23 | 2023-06-04. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Some automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. The damaged area has the appearance of dark stains or discoloration. |
| 06-002-23 | 2023-06-04. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some vehicles may exhibit a light resistance and/or an unusual noise when turning the steering wheel in either direction. This concern may be caused by insufficient lubrication between the worm wheel gear and worm shaft. To eliminate this concern, the production process for the steering shaft has been modified. |
| 05-002-23 | 2023-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory (P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738). |
| 01-007-23 | 2023-06-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The Mazda DCA-8000 is required for all warranty battery testing. If the Mazda DCA-8000 is not used, incorrect battery testing may result in unnecessary battery replacement. Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code. |
| SA-026-23 | 2023-05-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A tapping/rattling noise may be noticed from the valve train area. This operating condition can occur on new vehicles which have been delivered to Mazda dealers (due to loading and unloading from transport trucks or customers moving their vehicles in and out of their garages to wash the vehicle, etc.). This condition may also occur if the engine is not allowed to warm up after multiple cold starts. |

| 06-001-23a | 2023-05-03. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some vehicles may exhibit wear/peel-off of the leather steering wheel surface causing a poor appearance. This concern may be caused by an insufficient wear resistance of the steering wheel surface. |
| SA-012-23 | 2023-04-04. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; VISIBILITY. Some customers may report an odor or water in the HVAC system and upon inspection, the cabin air filter may be found to be wet. |

| SA-007-23b | 2023-04-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The rear differential case could develop a crack in the case, as shown below. NOTE: This could affect new vehicles just delivered to the dealer as well as customer vehicles. This concern is caused when the sliding bearing (1) in the coupling (2) is seized and causes the coupling component to fit loosely. The pinion shaft head (3) then contacts the differential case and causes a crack. |
| 09-007-23 | 2023-03-04. Service bulletin. SEATS. At PDI or when new vehicle is delivered, some customers may complain about wrinkles on the leather seat cushion and/or seat back surface. Some customers may experience the check engine light ON with DTC P0126:00 (Thermostat stuck open) and one or more of the following symptoms: The engine takes longer to warm up. The engine temperature gauge fluctuates. The low coolant temperature indicator (blue) light stays on longer or comes on while driving. Poor heater performance, especially at idle. NOTE: Vehicles with SKYACTIV-G 2.5T are not applicable. If DTC P2B61:00 (Coolant control valve circuit range/performance) accompanies DTC P0126:00, this TSB is not applicable. Diagnose according to the instructions on MGSS online. Due to production variety of the failsafe thermostat integrated in the coolant control valve, engine coolant may enter into a dry hollow in the failsafe thermostat, resulting in unintended opening of the failsafe thermostat at lower temperatures (104-176 °F (40-80 °C)). To eliminate this concern, the production process of the coolant control valve has been modified. |
