Service bulletins for the 2019 Mazda CX-3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

09-037-18-3534a2018-11-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Some vehicles equipped with MAZDA CONNECT may exhibit the following oil maintenance monitor concerns on the center display: The wrench light (Oil Change Due message) cannot be cleared using MAZDA CONNECT/Applications/Vehicle Status Monitor/Maintenance reset menu. The wrench light (Oil Change Due message) is displayed before the oil change is due. Vehicles with multi-information display Vehicles without multi-information display This is caused by only one reset procedure being performed when the oil is changed, usually using the center display. Two reset procedures are required, one is using the trip meter switch to reset the powertrain control module (PCM) and the other is using the center display to reset the connectivity master unit (CMU). To correct this issue, the CMU software has been modified so that the oil maintenance monitor reset operation on the center display resets both the CMU and the PCM at the same time. With this change, there set operation using the trip meter switch is now unnecessary.
01-015-18-3513a2018-11-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience a lack of power and the check engine light on with DTC P061B:00 and U0401:00 stored in the PCM memory when engine cranking is interrupted and on A/T vehicles, DTC U0442:00 is also stored. This concern most likely occurs when the brake pedal is released during engine cranking. DTC P061B:00 - [PCM] Internal control module torque calculation performance problem. DTC U0401:00 - Signal error from PCM DTC U0442:00 - [TCM] Invalid data received from PCM. Due to an improper control logic of the PCM, the engine torque calculation error detection is too sensitive. To eliminate this concern, the PCM software has been modified.
MT-008-182018-10-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Some customers may complain about: Intermittent engine no start, Instrument cluster red security indicator light ON, Engine Start/Start Button Amber indicator, light flashing, Battery discharge, Electrical relay buzzing noise. This may be caused by: A key in a purse near a cell phone. The cell phone radio waves may interrupt the immobilizer system. An aftermarket cell phone charger. The charger may produce electrical noise that interrupts the immobilizer system. An aftermarket GPS tracker. Some aftermarket devices that are wired to the vehicles?s wiring harness may create unusual electrical symptoms.
SA-040-182018-09-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience a check engine light on and/or failsafe with DTC P061B:00 stored in the PCM. This condition will likely occur as a result of one of the following causes: Engine cranking was interrupted by releasing the brake pedal. Start button was double pressed while the engine was still cranking. A countermeasure to correct mis-detection is currently being prepared.

ENGINE NO START AND / OR REAR VIEW MONITOR DISPLAY IS BLURRY DUE TO AFTERMARKET ELECTRICAL DEVICE: Some customers may complain about the following: Engine no start. A blurry rear view monitor display. This may be caused by an aftermarket accessory device. Some aftermarket electrical devices (e.g., an accessory cell phone charger) may create excessive electrical noise. The noise may interrupt some of the vehicle electrical systems. Below are a few examples of an aftermarket cell phone charger that is interrupting the vehicle electrical systems.

SA-026-182018-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE. If a vehicle is driven on extremely short trips most of the time (where the engine never reaches normal operating temperature), the engine oil may become diluted with fuel and the engine oil level will increase. Engine oil dilution with fuel occurring under this specific driving condition is normal with direct injection engines. If the vehicle is driven on a longer trip after a lot of short trips (where the engine reaches normal operating temperature), the Check Engine Light may turn ON with DTC P0172:00 (Fuel system too rich).

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
