Service bulletins for the 2016 Mazda CX-3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| MT-016-17 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM. The Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system alerts the driver of a possible collision using an indication in the display and a warning sound when the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) detects a vehicle ahead and determines that a collision with a vehicle ahead is imminent. In addition, the system reduces damage in the event of a collision by operating the brake control when the system determines that a collision is unavoidable. It may also be possible to avoid a collision depending on the relative speed between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. In addition, when the driver depresses the brake pedal, the brakes are applied firmly and quickly to assist. |
| 15-005-17-3358b | 2017-11-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some customers may complain that the BSM indicator light on the outer mirror glass does not illuminate when: ? Customer vehicle (A) is slowly passing other vehicle, even if the vehicle is still in the alert area.? Adjacent vehicle (B) driving at same speed, even if the vehicle is still in the alert area. At that time, the windshield is clear but the lens of the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is foggy. The FSC may not function properly under the following conditions: ? Foggy windshield ? Foggy FSC lens ? Heavy rain, dense fog, snow and direct sun light ? No or poor lane markings. When the FSC control system detects the foggy lens of the camera, the system deactivates LDWS and HBC functions. |
| 15-001-17-3301a | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some vehicles with Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) may experience the following conditions (similar to when the BSM control modules detect dirt on the rear bumper surface): DTC U1A4B:97 - Radar sensor sensitivity temporarily decreases depending on various external and environmental factors (blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH)), DTC U3000:97 - Radar sensor sensitivity temporarily decreases depending on various external and environmental factors (blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH)), The BSM turns ?OFF? and the BSM OFF indicator turns ?ON? in the instrument cluster while driving, The BSM will not turn on again during the drive cycle, After cycling the ignition switch off and on again, the BSM operates normally, DTC U1A4B:97 or U3000:97 is stored in memory. To correct this problem, the control logic of the BSM control modules has been changed. |
| 01-008-17-3376 | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Some vehicles may experience a rough idle with the check engine light on and DTC P0015 / P0524 stored in memory. P0015:00 - Exhaust CMP timing over-retarded. P0524:00 - Engine oil pressure too low. This is caused by a drop in engine oil pressure due to a piece of foreign object stuck on the oil pump pressure relief valve or oil control valve (OCV). The temporary entry of the foreign object triggers a check engine light on, but rough idle will not be produced until a later time. |
| 04-002-17-3316a | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak noise when applying the brakes and/or groove marks (A) on the front disc plates. This is caused by abrasive metal from the front disc plate sticking to the brake pad, which damages the disc plate over time. To correct the problem, a modified brake pad is being used. |

When dealing with customer complaints of excessive condensation and/or water within the headlamp unit, first determine if all the bulb sockets (including O-ring), seals and covers are present and correctly installed. Any damage caused by missing socket covers, HID module seal (D), or missing bumper brackets (E) is not covered by warranty policy. |
