Mack Trucks has received reports from the aftermarket regarding oil leaks at the CCV housing inlet tube and at the split line between the upper and lower housings on chassis builds between January 1, 2014 and January 26, 2016 with MP7, MP8, and MP10 engines. It has been determined that the O-ring installed on the inlet tube is the source of the leak and oil may leak down the back of the housing giving the impression that the housing split line is also leaking.

IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE O-RING INSTALLED ON THE INLET TUBE IS THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK AND OIL MAY LEAK DOWN THE BACK OF THE HOUSING GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT THE HOUSING SPLIT LINE IS ALSO LEAKING.

THIS CAN CREATE A PATH FOR A LEAK AROUND THE THREADS OF THE MOUNTING BOLT.

THE WEEK NUMBER DATE CODE IS MARKED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FILTER, THE NUMBER ON TOP IS THE YEAR AND THE NUMBER BELOW IDENTIFIES THE WEEK. DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ISSUE, FUEL DOES NOT FLOW THROUGH THE FILTER WHICH RESULTS IN A NO-START/RUN CONDITION IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALLATION.
