Service bulletins for the 2016 Lincoln MKC
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 47638 | 2019-01-07. Service bulletin. STEERING; STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR. 2013-2019 vehicles equipped with a LKS system with customer complaints of steering wheel vibration, steering pull or vehicle drift may be due to an alert and/or steering aid input from the LKS. The LKS system detects unintentional drifting toward the outside of the lane and alerts and/or aids vehicle to stay in the lane. Be sure the customer understands how the lane departure warning feature settings work for Alert (steering wheel vibration) and Aid (steering input toward lane center). Further information on the LKS can be found in the owners manual. If the customers concern is due to the LKS functioning as intended, do not attempt to repair. |
| SSM 47489 | 2018-09-24. Service bulletin. STEERING. When connecting the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) and Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to the DLC located on the driver side under the steering column at the GWM, make sure that the ignition is off before connecting the VCM. If the ignition is on or the engine is running during the connection, it can result in various warning lights being illuminated with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), no start, no crank conditions or the IPC inoperative. If a vehicle displays these issues, disconnect the equipment from the DLC and disconnect the vehicle battery. Wait 10 minutes and reinstall with the ignition off. Clear any DTCs present and retest. |
| SSM 46724 | 2017-08-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING. Some 2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with active park assist may exhibit turn signals, steering wheel radio controls and low speed wipers being inoperative. The stability/traction control indicator lamp may also be illuminated with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0131. It may be required to perform the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) reprogramming function twice to ensure the module is successfully programmed. Reprogram the SCCM with latest calibration using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 106.03 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Use causal part 3F791 and refer to section 10 body/chassis/electrical in the SLTS manual for applicable labor operations. |
| SSM 46723 | 2017-08-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING. Some 2015-2016 MKC vehicles without active park assist and built on or before 2/15/16 may exhibit steering column controls such as turn signals, radio controls, and low speed wipers being intermittently inoperative due to lack of communication. Wake up the steering column control module (SCCM) by actuating the headlight flash to pass function and reprogram the SCCM with latest calibration using IDS release 106.03 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com.
