TSB_ELE3322024-05-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: EWP COOLANT HOSE REPLACEMENT - This bulletin provides information to replace the Electric Water Pump (EWP) coolant hose on some 2023-2024MY Niro EV (SG2 EV) vehicles produced from July 11, 2022 through January 24, 2024, which may exhibit a coolant leak from under the bulkhead due to a loosened EWP coolant hose at the EWP connector. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, a "Refill coolant" warning message may appear in the instrument cluster, followed by reduced heater performance. The retainer clip on the EWP coolant hose on the vehicle is positioned horizontally on the hose which may come loose after time. The improved coolant hose has the retainer clip rotated 90 degrees to be positioned vertically.

This condition may occur when the vehicle is exposed to high heat/hot weather environments.

Drive carefully' or 'Uneven road ahead. Drive carefully' warning which is displayed on the instrument cluster. The current AVN software causes the warning sound and message to repeat approximately every ten (10) seconds, if the vehicle is not in motion, in 'PARK' or driving on even surfaces.

In some cases, the vehicle may exhibit a "Check electric vehicle system", and/or "Stop vehicle and check power supply" message in the instrument cluster display, and/or MIL 'ON' with DTC(s) described below. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) performs charging functions for the high voltage and the auxiliary 12V batteries, and depending on the DTC(s) stored, the ICCU may need to be replaced.

VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN: OWNER NOTIFICATION - This document is the owner notification advising that Kia America, Inc. is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to upgrade the Vehicle Control Unit ("VCU") software logic in certain 2023 MY Niro EV vehicles. Kia is conducting this Voluntary Service Campaign to improve the VCU software logic so that the vehicle&#34s brake lights illuminate during i-Pedal mode when the vehicle reaches a certain deceleration threshold even if you do not release the accelerator pedal fully or depress the brake pedal. Also, this software upgrade will improve the electronic shift logic so that the vehicle will shift into PARK (P) automatically when the auxiliary battery's (12v) voltage is critically low and the vehicle is stationary.

PITSTOP: SHARING KIA CONNECT CREDENTIALS WITH THIRD-PARTY APPS AND POTENTIAL IMPACT TO 12V BATTERY IN EVS - Kia is aware of reports of unexpected drainage of the 12-volt battery in some Kia electric vehicles (EVs). While Kia’s investigation is ongoing, a possible cause of the issue may be third-party applications used by the customer that are causing excessive Kia Connect connections to the customer’s EV.
