A smoke machine should NEVER be used when testing the evaporative system in a HEV/PHEV model vehicle.

The vehicle may exhibit intermittently poor electric connection which may be caused by water inflow into the case due to poor sealing of the joint.

PITSTOP: MFC, CONCERNS FOR DISABLED OPERATION - This Pitstop provides information regarding concerns with disabled operation of Multi-Function Camera (MFC) on some Kia vehicles. When normal operation is not possible due to certain outside environment conditions (such as sunlight glare, heavy rain, sunlight, snow, fog and/or substance/debris) causing a temporary concern. This stops operation causing Warning Lamp ON and/or Pop-up Message displayed on the cluster. This is a normal operation of the ADAS and once environment conditions improve and/or substance/debris are removed, the system will clear itself and operate normally.

One is the common coolant colored GREEN (also used for combustion engine models) and the other is the EV (low-conductivity) coolant colored BLUE. The 19MY Niro EV vehicle may be equipped with either one of these coolant color types and is normal for this vehicle application. The 20MY will have only the BLUE coolant. DO NOT mix the two types of coolants together, or switch the coolant type originally used in the system of the applicable EV vehicle.

PITSTOP: ENGINE ELECTRIC WATER PUMP (EWP) CONNECTOR AND PIGTAIL ISSUES FOR DTC U045600 - This Pitstop provides information regarding DTC U045600 on some 2017-2020MY Niro (P/HEV) vehicles, which may set due to the EWP and/or harness connectors (C102) being contaminated with coolant. In the event that this DTC is set, throughly inspect the EWP and harness connectors which are located behind the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) and are sometimes difficult to see.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: HEV/PHEV P0128 LOGIC IMPROVEMENT - This bulletin provides the procedure to improve the logic of the Engine Control Module (ECU) on some 2017-2019MY Niro (DE HEV/PHEV) vehicles, produced from November 1, 2016 through November 25, 2019 and equipped with Kappa 1.6 GDI engine, regarding DTC (P0128) judgement logic. To correct this concern, apply the improved logic to the ECU using the KDS ECU Upgrade function as described in this bulletin.

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: SNOW ACCUMULATION OR FREEZING COUNTERMEASURE FOR EV CHARGING DOOR - This bulletin provides information on the installation of charge door spacing pads on some 2019MY Niro (DE EV) vehicles which may exhibit snow accumulation or freezing when driving in snow conditions. Snow accumulation or freezing on the charging door is reduced by installing two (2) 4mm Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) spacer pads to inside of the charge door in order to enable snow to be released.
