Service bulletins for the 2015 Kia Forte
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| PS493 | 2017-08-02. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. TSB: DEFOGGING LOGIC ? NORMAL OPERATION, DISABLING, AND ENABLING - Starting with 2010MY, all Kia vehicles, except Rio (JB), incorporate a defogging logic to prevent the interior windows from becoming excessively fogged. Depending on the specific model, the HVAC control head monitors ambient temperature and/or cabin humidity to determine which settings will best prevent the windows from fogging. If the system detects lower ambient temperature or higher cabin humidity, the defogging logic may automatically switch ON the A/C, and/or set the air intake mode to Fresh Air. If the user changes these settings, the defogging logic will take control again after 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the procedure in this publication. |

| TSB BOD132 | 2017-02-16. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS. ON SOME 2014-2015 MY FORTE VEHICLES, CUSTOMERS MAY COMPLAIN ABOUT WATER DROPLETS FORMING INSIDE THE REAR TAIL LAMP LENSES FOLLOWING A RAINSTORM OR AFTER WASHING THEIR VEHICLE. THESE WATER DROPLETS ARE MORE VISIBLE AT NIGHT AND THE QUANTITY OF WATER PRESENT IS MORE THAN JUST A THIN FILM OF CONDENSATION WHICH MAY NOT EASILY EVAPORATE. THIS CONCERN IS CAUSED BY A GAP BETWEEN THE TAIL LAMP HOUSING GASKET AND VEHICLE BODY WHICH ALLOWS WATER TO INFILTRATE INTO THE TAIL LAMP. TO RESOLVE THIS CONCERN, ORDER NEW FOAM GASKETS AND INSTALL THEM BETWEEN THE LEFT AND RIGHT TAIL LAMPS AS REQUIRED AND THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE, AS OUTLINED IN THE TSB. |
| PS336R1 | 2017-02-08. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. PITSTOP: CLICKING NOISE FROM FRONT SUSPENSION - SOME 2014-2016MY FORTE (YD) VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A CLICKING TYPE NOISE FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION WHEN CARRYING A FULL LOAD OF PASSENGERS AND TURNING THE WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION AT LOW SPEEDS; SUCH AS IN A PARKING LOT SITUATION OR WHEN PULLING INTO STEEPLY INCLINED DRIVEWAY. TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION, PLACE THE VEHICLE ON THE LIFT, RAISE THE DUST COVER AND APPLY A GENEROUS AMOUNT OF SILICONE BASED LUBRICANT ONTO THE LEFT AND RIGHT STRUT CAPS, AS SHOWN BELOW. |
| PS266R1 | 2017-02-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. PITSTOP: HVAC RECEIVER/DRYER - DESICCANT REPLACEMENT - IN THE EVENT OF A HVAC SYSTEM CONCERN IN WHICH METAL PARTICLES OR SHARDS HAVE CONTAMINATED THE SYSTEM, THE DESICCANT OR THE ENTIRE A/C RECEIVER/DRYER ASSEMBLY MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT MAY BE IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE ALL METAL CONTAMINANTS FROM THE RECEIVER/DRYER DURING THE A/C FLUSHING PROCEDURE. REFER TO THE INCLUDED TABLE FOR DETAILED INFORMATION ON COMPONENT REPLACEMENT BY MODEL. IF YOU SUSPECT A PLUGGED EXPANSION VALVE, THE INLET SCREENS CAN BE CLEANED. IF THE VALVE IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH AN INLET SCREEN AND IS RESTRICTED, THE EXPANSION VALVE MAY ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED. |

| PS400 | 2017-01-31. Service bulletin. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; ENGINE. PITSTOP: SMART PEDAL FEATURE - THE “SMART PEDAL” IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) FUNCTIONALITY WHICH MONITORS AND PREVENTS THE SIMULTANEOUS ACTIVATION OF ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS. WHEN ENGAGED, THE FEATURE REDUCES ENGINE POWER TO IDLE. MOST CUSTOMERS WILL NEVER NOTICE THE SMART PEDAL FEATURE WHEN ACTIVE, HOWEVER, CUSTOMERS WHO TEND TO REST THEIR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE DRIVING MIGHT DESCRIBE A HESITATION OR DELAY SYMPTOM AND NOT REALIZE THAT THE EMS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE IS INTERVENING, AS DESIGNED. |

TO CORRECT THIS CONCERN, REPLACE ALL FOUR (4) TPMS SENSORS WITH THE IMPROVED PARTS, BY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS BULLETIN. |
