IMPORTANT REMINDER: REMOVAL OF SNOW/ICE BEFORE DRIVING YOUR EV9 IN WINTER CONDITIONS: OWNER NOTIFICATION (MVSNOW) - As part of Kia’s ongoing commitment to providing vehicle owners with a superior ownership experience, Kia would like to remind owners about the importance of proper SNOW/ICE REMOVAL BEFORE DRIVING, as well as the related windshield wiper system warning feature. The Kia EV9 may display warning messages to inform drivers to check for any obstructions such as snow/ice in the windshield wiper area when operating in winter conditions.

This bulletin provides information to install enhanced windshield wiper software that provides drivers with additional warnings related to the use of the windshield wipers during winter conditions on all 2024-2025 MY and certain 2026 MY EV9 (MV1, MV1a) vehicles manufactured from September 25, 2023, through October 31, 2025. The enhanced software detects obstructed windshield wipers and provides advance messages to remind the driver to check for any obstructions such as snow/ice in the windshield wiper area.
PS7972025-12-18. Other. BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS. PITSTOP: TECHNICAL OPERATIONS: EXTERNAL DAMAGE TO ULTRASONIC SENSOR: This Pitstop provides information related to Parking Distance Warning (PDW) alerts and repairs involving ultrasonic sensors. The PDW system alerts the driver while parking, by calculating distance based on the difference in signal transmission and reception times between the vehicle (ultrasonic sensor) and an object. The membrane film of the ultrasonic sensor is used for object detention and can be damaged by stone chips or foreign substances while driving. Damage to the cover of the ultrasonic sensor can also lead to damage to the internal circuit. As a result of this external damage, the PDW system may not receive the proper signal from the ultrasonic sensor. In some cases, the system may cause a false alarm, no alert, or phantom warnings by a “Warning Lamp’ to be displayed on the cluster. The ultrasonic sensor membrane film should be always inspected for external damage and if any part replacement should be treated as a general repair, not as a warranty claim repair for this concern. (Please note that this Pitstop only applies to models/trims that are equipped with the ultrasonic sensors.)

The affected vehicles may experience abnormal noise coming from the front GDU which is caused by a missing wave washer from the motor inside the front GDU.

The affected vehicles may exhibit console armrest wobbling and/or rattling when closed. One or both bumpers can be missing, broken, and/or shifted out of place creating a gap between the console armrest and the console assembly which causes the console armrest to wobble and/or rattle while closed.

OVER-THE-AIR: SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR V2X ENHANCEMENT - This Over-the-Air (OTA) software update is designed to update the Vehicle Charging Management System (VCMS), Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), Rear Motor Control Unit (R_MCU), and Battery Management Unit (BMU) logic of certain 2024 and 2025 EV9 vehicles. This update is designed to enable your vehicle to be Vehicle to Everything (V2X) ready. V2X provides the ability to use your vehicle as an energy storage system for properly equipped homes. A compatible bi-directional charger (sold separately) is required. After activating the V2X feature in the Kia Connect Store, V2X can be used by connecting to a compatible bi-directional charger (sold separately). The V2X technology allows EV9 vehicles to interact with other devices such as Vehicle-to-Home ‘V2H’ and Vehicle-to-Grid ‘V2G’ technology which enables bidirectional charging, where the EV's battery can be used as a mobile energy storage unit, providing power to the grid or a home backup power source.
