| 2023293 | 2023-05-18. Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks, the backup lamps could be blocked and may not be visible. As a result, the trucks don't meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a pintle hook lowering bracket and feature code 01WPN, 01 WPS, or 01VAL. Safety Risk: Backup lamps that aren't visible could cause a person not to recognize that the vehicle is backing and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to install new tail stop/turn signal lamps with integrated backup lamps. |

| 2005396 | 2005-12-19. Electrical. On certain vehicles, the electrical ground cable that connects the engine block with the starter may be routed in a way that could cause chafing against the starter's positive battery cable. If chafing occurs, an electrical short may result and may cause a vehicle fire, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace and reroute the ground cable. |
| 2005166 | 2005-05-31. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the push rod that connects the brake pedal to the brake valve was manufactured incorrectly and may break under certain loading conditions. If this push rod breaks while the vehicle is in operation, a significant loss of service braking may be experienced. This could result in a vehicle crash without warning, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the brake pedal push rod. |
| 2005128 | 2005-04-29. Other. On certain vehicles, the electrically controlled Modular Solenoid Valve Assembly (MSVA) 7-pack can allow water to contaminate its circuit board possibly resulting in inadvertent operation of the fifth wheel slide control. If the fifth wheel slide control actuates while the vehicle is in transit, momentum from the trailer can cause the fifth wheel to slide without input from the driver, which may result in a vehicle crash without warning possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the 7-pack base and solenoids. |
