Recalls that may apply to the 2008 International 7600
A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.
By component
| 14V037000 | 2014-02-04. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Kaffenbarger Truck Equipment Company (Kaffenbarger) is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 International class 8 trucks equipped with Sure Power-brand DC-DC converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. The specific potting compound used in the subject products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat. Built 2006-01-01 to 2013-09-30. |

| 09V425000 | 2009-10-30. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. NAVISTAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008 AND 2010 EMERGENCY VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JUNE 12, 2007 AND JUNE 24, 2009, EQUIPPED WITH CUMMINS ISB CM2150, ISC CM2150, ISL CM2150, ISM CM876, AND ISX CM871 MODEL DIESEL ENGINES. THE VEHICLES MAY BE DESIGNED WITH A HARD WIRED, DASH-MOUNTED SWITCH THAT ENABLES THE VEHICLE OPERATOR TO INHIBIT AFTERTREATMENT DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER REGENERATION IN ENVIRONMENTS WHERE THE OPERATOR BELIEVES IT MAY BE UNSAFE FOR ELEVATED EXHAUST TEMPERATURES. DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE LOGIC IN THE ECM SOFTWARE IN THESE ENGINES, THE SWITCH MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY, LEADING THE OPERATOR TO BELIEVE THAT THE SWITCH IS IN "INHIBIT" MODE WHEN IT IS NOT. Built 2009-06-12 to 2009-06-24. |
| 07V498000 | 2007-10-24. POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH SPLIT SHAFT STYLE POWER TAKE OFF (PTO), THE BOLTS THAT ATTACH THE DRIVE SHAFT FLANGES TO THE SPLIT SHAFT PTO MAY LOOSEN AND ALLOW THE DRIVE SHAFT TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE. Built 2006-05-10 to 2007-09-06. |
| 07V374000 | 2007-08-22. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL. ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 TRUCKS BUILT WITH CUMMINS ISM C876 ENGINES, THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE FAILS TO RECOGNIZE INPUTS OF THE VEHICLE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT OR FROM A DRIVER ACTUATED DASH SWITCH THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF UNINTENDED (OR UNEXPECTED) ELEVATED EXHAUST TEMPERATURES. Built 2006-05-15 to 2007-04-02. |
| 07V314000 | 2007-07-24. PARKING BRAKE. ON CERTAIN 6X4 OR 6X6 TRUCKS WITH AIR BRAKES OR TRACTORS WITH AIR BRAKES AND EQUIPPED WITH BENDIX SR-7 SPRING BRAKE MODULATING VALVES, THE INTERNAL RUBBER CHECK VALVE MAY LEAK CAUSING A DELAY IN THE APPLICATION OF THE SPRING BRAKES TO PARK THE VEHICLE AFTER THE OPERATOR PULLS THE DASH VALVE BUTTON. Built 2005-11-01 to 2007-04-30. |
| 07V180000 | 2007-04-24. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH DAVCO FUEL PRO 382 HEATED FUEL FILTERS, WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE 'ON' POSITION, THE PRE-HEATER, LOCATED IN THE FUEL FILTER BASE, IS ENERGIZED. |
| 2007313 | 2007-09-27. Engine. On certain trucks equipped with a Cummins ISM CM876 engine, the Electronic Control Module (ECM) fails to recognize inputs of the vehicle Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or from a driver actuated dash switch thereby increasing the risk of unintended (or unexpected) elevated exhaust temperatures. While this condition does not involve a risk of fire in the vehicle itself, it could present a fire hazard in a situation where the vehicle's exhaust is in close proximity to materials or substances that can melt, burn or explode. Correction: Dealers will install updated ECM software. |
|---|---|
| 2007246 | 2007-07-20. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the internal rubber check valve inside the Bendix SR-7 spring brake modulating valve can become deformed over time. The effect of this defect is intermittent and presents a potential delay or failure in applying the parking brakes; potentially resulting in a vehicle roll away. Should this occur, the unattended roll away vehicle could strike a bystander or cause property damage. Correction: Dealers will install a check valve repair kit. |
| 2007126 | 2007-04-20. Fuel System. On certain trucks, when the ignition key is in the 'ON' position, the pre-heater, located in the fuel filter base, is energized. If this pre-heater is energized while maintenance is being performed on the fuel filter, diesel fuel could ignite within the filter housing. A fire within the fuel filter housing may spread possibly resulting in property damage or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the fuel heater assembly. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
