Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford Ranger
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 50670 | 2022-04-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Some 2021-2022 Ranger/Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine built on or after 14-Dec-2021 and 2022 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine and built on or after 14-Dec-2021, may exhibit a lack of power with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P25B4 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). To correct the condition, clear the DTC and road test the vehicle under load until the vehicle reaches operating temperature. If the DTC repeats, the turbocharger will need to be replaced. For claiming use causal part 6K682 and applicable labor times found in Section 09 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. If the DTC does not repeat, release the vehicle to the customer. |
| SSM 50656 | 2022-04-13. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; POWER TRAIN. Some 2022 Ranger 4x4 vehicles built on 14-Feb-2022 and through 22-Mar-2022 may exhibit a vibration/boom noise above 50 mph (80 km/h) originating from the front of the vehicle. This may be due to an imbalanced front axle assembly. If the tires and drive shaft have been eliminated as the possible cause, inspect the front axle tag and locate the serial number. If the front axle serial number is between (XXXDRK 22041 XXXXX) and (XXXDRK 22075 XXXXX), replace the front axle with service part number KB3Z-3002-C. If not, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 100-04. |
| SSM 50603 | 2022-03-22. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM. Some 2019-2022 Ranger vehicles may experience condensation from the climate control system dripping on the driver's side floor and/or the driver's foot. This may be due to improper or poorly wrapped evaporator lines between the interior bulkhead and the climate control assembly case. Using a flashlight and a mirror, inspect the evaporator lines for being exposed or poorly wrapped. The cut ends of the mastic wrap should be on the top of the lines and have complete coverage. If an issue is found, cover the lines by manipulating the existing mastic wrap, or by adding more mastic to better insulate the lines and limit condensation. |
| TSB 22-2104 | 2022-03-22. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL; SEATS; EQUIPMENT. This article supersedes TSB 21-2236 to update the models and year affected. This may be due to the seat pan track. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to install a reinforcement. |
| SSM 50566 | 2022-03-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may need to perform A/C leak detection diagnostics. The 2022 Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00 for A/C leak detection diagnosis is incomplete and is in the process of being updated. At this time, Pinpoint Test AN of Section 412-00 in the 2022 F-150 WSM can be used temporarily for the service procedure and specifications. Use the correct vehicle specific removal and replacement sections as needed. A new labor operation 19700A45 has also been released to align with the new procedure. |
| SSM 50502 | 2022-02-23. Service bulletin. SEATS. | TSB 22-2051 | 2022-02-23. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2022 Ranger vehicles may exhibit a shudder/vibration when accelerating from a stop. | TSB 22-2026 | 2022-02-16. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some 2019-2022 Ranger crew cab vehicles may exhibit excessive latching effort when returning the rear seat backrest assembly to the upright position. This may be due to oversized rear seat backrest bumpers preventing latch to striker engagement. Vehicles built on or before 04-Feb-2019 may also have excessive deadening material inside the rear seat backrest latch. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the rear seat backrest bumpers and adjust the striker position. |
| TSB 22-2025 | 2022-02-16. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2019-2022 Ranger vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 and/or P0316 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to water build up in the spark plug well(s) which can lead to signs of corrosion on ignition system components. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to resolve the source of all DTCs and to install an engine appearance cover. |
| SSM 50442 | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Some 2019-2022 Ranger vehicles may experience an uneven and/or excessive gap existing between the instrument panel (IP) topper and the center tray/upfitter switch assembly. This may be due to a lack of rigidity in the IP topper not allowing the tray/upfitter switch assembly to latch properly. The following foam block service kits should be used to correct this condition. For vehicles equipped with an IP tray, order service part # KB3Z-2104338-AG, which includes a new IP tray and foam blocks. For vehicles equipped with the upfitter switch assembly, order service part # KB3Z-2104338-A, which only includes the foam blocks. If a new upfitter switch assembly is required, this must be ordered separately. Follow the installation instructions included with each kit to install the foam blocks and repair the vehicle. |
