SSM 460972017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Some 2017 Fusion/MKZ/MKC and Continental with all audio systems and 2017 Escape with Sony audio systems may exhibit an inoperative audio system after a battery disconnect/reconnect. Make sure battery is at full state of charge before attempting to restore audio operation. Audio system operation should be restored by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 minutes and reconnecting. If a vehicle service procedure requires a battery disconnect/reconnect ensure radio functionality is verified before vehicle is released to the customer. To assist with the investigation use the Report A Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the Oasis report and submit a Global Concern Report (GCR). Continue to monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 460902017-08-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM. Some 2017 Fusion vehicles built on or before 20-Sep-2016 may exhibit a slow to update fuel gauge, erratic fuel gauge reading, and/or distance to empty (DTE) concern after a refueling event with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in powertrain control module (PCM). Do not attempt a repair at this time. Engineering is currently investigating a fix. To assist with the investigation use the Report A Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the Oasis report and submit a Global Concern Report (GCR). Continue to monitor OASIS for updates.

The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
SSM 460762017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. Some 2016 Model Year Fusion, MKZ and C-MAX Hybrid Electric Vehicles(HEV) vehicles equipped with 2.0L DOHC Gas/Electric engines may exhibit MIL On with Diagnostic Trouble Code P0137(O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2) in Powertrain Control Module(PCM) memory and U3003 (Battery Voltage) in Battery Energy Control Module(BECM) memory due to low battery voltage. Perform Battery diagnostic tests referenced in Workshop Manual Section 414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables-Diagnosis and Testing. After repairs for low voltage concern are repaired, clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If DTC P0137 and U3003 do not repeat return vehicle to the Customer. If DTC P0137 repeats perform Powertrain Control and Emissions Manual(PCED) diagnostic DW. Engineering is currently investigating this concern.
SSM 460732017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2016-2017 Escape, MKC, Fiesta, F150, Expedition, Navigator, Mustang, Transit, Focus, C-Max, MKX, Taurus, MKS, Flex, MKT, and Edge and 2017 Explorer, Fusion, MKZ, Super Duty, Transit Connect and Continental vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 might exhibit a blank screen or other various SYNC symptoms only when the vehicle is in Transport mode. Engineering is aware of this possibility and it is considered normal due to the power saving features enabled while in transportation mode. It is beneficial to extended battery life to keep the vehicle in Transport Mode until the vehicle is prepped for sale. If the vehicle should exhibit a blank screen or other SYNC symptoms after it has been taken out of Transport mode, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 for normal diagnosis. The SYNC version can be confirmed via OASIS.
SSM 460582017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2017 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and navigation may exhibit a condition in which the SiriusXM Traffic Listing is not loading but all remaining Travel Link features operate properly. SiriusXM Traffic is only available on vehicles equipped with navigation, only in select markets and requires an active subscription to SiriusXM Traffic information. If SiriusXM Traffic will not load attempt the following procedure. Turn the ignition off, open and close the drivers door, wait for 3 minutes, then drive the vehicle outside to obtain a clear view of the sky. SiriusXM Traffic should recover. If SiriusXM Traffic does not recover continue to monitor OASIS for future updates. Engineering is aware of this concern and no component replacement or any software re-flashes should be performed at this time. The SYNC version can be confirmed via OASIS.
SSM 460482017-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2016-2017 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may have DTCs U3000:04, B108E:12 and/or U1A00:87 present in the APIM. If these DTCs are present and no other symptoms are reported by the customer, then clear the DTCs and retest. If the DTC(s) do not return then no further repairs should be attempted. If one or more DTCs return as current faults and/or the customer reports other symptoms, then refer to Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 for further diagnostics. The SYNC version can be confirmed via OASIS.
TSB 16-01312017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Some 2017 Fusion and MKZ vehicles equipped with Sirius satellite radio and built on or before 31-Aug-2016 may exhibit an intermittent concern where the audio cuts out and the radio displays a No Signal or Acquiring message while driving in open sky conditions. TSB 16-01302017-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER; ENGINE. Some 2014-2017 Fusion and 2017 Escape vehicles equipped with a 1.5L Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) engine may exhibit low coolant, white exhaust smoke and an illuminated MIL if diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0217, P300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0316 and/or P1299 are present. This condition may be due to an intake manifold bolt backing out causing damage to the charge air cooler (CAC). Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SSM 465442017-08-01. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2017 Fusion and MKZ vehicles built on 01-Nov-2016 and through 15-Mar-2017 may exhibit front windows that fail to open or close completely, bounce back, and/or have a complete loss of the one-touch feature. Reprogram the driver door module (DDM) and/or the passenger door module (PDM) to the latest calibration using IDS version 104.04 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. After programming perform the IDS power window initialization procedure. Access to this IDS learn procedure is available under Toolbox/Body/Power Window Initialization. SSM 465342017-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2013-2017 Fusion Hybrid Energi built on or before 24-Mar-2017, 2012-2016 Focus Electric and 2013-2016 C-MAX Energi and equipped with a TCU may exhibit inoperative remote features via MyFord Mobile app, discharged battery, incomplete user authorization and/or accessory protocol interface module (APIM) DTC U0198 with no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed. To correct, perform any open TCU field service actions (FSAs). If U0198 DTC remains, remove the TCU fuse for 5 minutes then reinstall prior to programming. Reprogram the TCU using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 104.05 or higher. An internet connection is required. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the SLTS manual.
SSM 465282017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Some 2017 MKZ and Fusion vehicle built on or before 30-Oct-2016, and Continental vehicles may exhibit window bounce back when using the one-touch feature and/or a loss of window one-touch up functionality. Perform the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) power door window initialization procedure. The learn procedure is available on IDS software version 104.02 or later. Access to this IDS learn procedure is available under Toolbox / Body / Power Window Initialization. For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual. No additional repairs should be attempted if this does not resolve the concern. Engineering is aware and is currently investigating. Monitor OASIS for future updates.
SSM 465112017-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Some 2017 Fusion and MKZ vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P068A. Address any additional DTCs first. This DTC can set when battery voltage is low or a battery drain condition exits. The root cause of the low battery condition must be identified and corrected before addressing DTC P068A. Refer to Powertrain Control Emissions Diagnosis Manual (PC/ED) for further diagnosis. Review OASIS for other battery drain related messages.
TSB 17-20762017-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT. Some 2017 Escape/Fusion vehicles equipped with a 2.5L engine and built on or before 2-Feb-2017 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0300 and/or P0316 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
TSB 17-20722017-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2017 C-MAX/Fusion Hybrid/Energi and MKZ Hybrid vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P0071 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This DTC can be set after the vehicle is stored inside a warm location for several hours and then driven on a cold day. Under these conditions the PCM may see a temperature sensor concern when it first compares the ambient air temperature (AAT) sensor to other engine temperature sensors and set the DTC. Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 104.04 or higher.
