| SSM 48243 | 2019-11-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2012-2016 Focus Electric vehicles may abort the battery energy control module (BECM) on demand self-test but pass the network test. This is the result of a module software limitation and does not indicate an issue is present in the BECM. If the vehicle has the stop safely now message and no other observable symptoms are present, continue with normal diagnostics. If there is a symptom present in addition to the stop safely now message, perform individual self-tests on the other high voltage (HV) modules including the PCM, transmission control module (TCM), secondary on board diagnostic module (SOBDM), air conditioning control module (ACCM), and direct current to direct current (DC/DC) converter modules. Diagnose any DTCs as necessary. If there are no DTCs in other modules but CMDTCs are reported by the BECM, diagnose these DTCs. |
| SSM 48123 | 2019-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally. |
