Customers may also report experiencing rough engine performance, engine misfire, or a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0301-P0308 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to camshaft and/or valve tappet having excess wear within the engine assembly. |

| 25B22 | 2025-08-01. Other. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Certain 2024 - 2025 Model Year Diesel F-650/F-750 Vehicles Glow Plug Module Wire Harness Shielding On some of the affected vehicles, the wire harness connected to the glow plug dosing module may chafe due to abrasive contact with the front wheel arch liner. Over time, chafing of the wire harness may lead to a check engine light in the cluster, reduced engine power or engine no-start. |
| SSM 52455 | 2024-05-03. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty/F-53 Motorhome/F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis or 2023-2025 E-Series/F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a gas engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with ignition system DTC(s) P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0357, P2303, P2306, P2309, P2312, P2318, P2304, P2307, P2310, P2313, P2319, and/or P2322 set in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to incorrect cylinder to DTC mapping within the PCM. This means the DTCs listed may set against the incorrect cylinder. Even though the cylinder to DTC mapping is incorrect in the PCM, the presence of these DTCs means that a real ignition system concern is present that requires diagnosis and repair. Prior to performing a pinpoint test for one of the listed DTCs, it will be necessary to identify the correct cylinder that has the issue. Do this by using the Ford diagnosis and repair system (FDRS) to perform a cylinder power balance test. If the results show two cylinders dropping out, begin diagnosing the ignition system components for the cylinder that is dropping out and not setting an ignition related DTC. Due to the incorrect incorrectcylinder to DTC mapping, the PCM will shut off fuel to the cylinder that the PCM has triggered a DTC against. Diagnosing the cylinder that does not set an ignition DTCand drops during the power balance test, will verify the identity of the cylinder that has the concern. If only onecylinder is dropping out, start diagnostics with that cylinder. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 303-07A/C. |
| SSM 52424 | 2024-04-29. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM):SOFTWARE. Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a perimeter alarm and built on or before 27-Mar-2024 may exhibit a false alarm activation intermittently. This may be due to the software in the body control module (BCM). Monitor the BCM alarm event parameter identifications (PID). If ALARM_EVT_1/2/3/4 show a value of Intrusion Sensor, reprogram the BCM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 52420 | 2024-04-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P2122, P2123, P2127, P2128, and/or P2138 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may or may not exhibit a perceived lack of power intermittently. Perform a wiggle test of connector C1580 at the left rear of the engine compartment while the engine is at normal operating temperature. Perform a visual inspection of pins 18 through 29 as well as a terminal fit test using the appropriately sized flex probe. Repair as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram Cell 005. If no concerns are found, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 310-02 for normal diagnostics. |
| SSM 52357 | 2024-04-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2021-2024 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit water coolant pump leaks. This may be due to contamination in the coolant system. To correct this condition and prevent recurrent water pump failures, perform a coolant system flush. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-03A Engine Cooling - 1.5L EcoBoost > General Procedures > Engine Cooling System Flushing > Steps 1-8. Then replace the coolant pump. Refer to the WSM, Section Engine Cooling - 1.5L EcoBoost > Removal and Installation. Fill and bleed the coolant system properly. Refer to the WSM, Section 303-03A Engine Cooling - 1.5L EcoBoost > General Procedures > Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding. Note: Repeat steps 10-12 a total of 10 times to remove any remaining air trapped in the system. |
| SSM 52335 | 2024-03-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed. |
| SSM 52192 | 2024-01-24. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may require fuel injector removal and replacement for various reasons. Fuel injector o-ring and supply tube kits LC3Z-9229-A and LC3Z-9229-B for 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles should be utilized when instructed to replace these parts in Workshop Manual, Section 303-04. The parts catalog is in the process of being updated. |
| SSM 51889 | 2023-09-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2024 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U02A2, P206B, P203B, P208A, P20FA, P20FD, and/or P20FC stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). Before performing normal diagnostics, inspect connectors C1273C (32 pin) and C314 (14 pin) for proper connection. Also disconnect and inspect C1583 (32 pin), C314 (14 pin), C3616 (7 pin) and C3613 (5 pin) for signs of water intrusion and/or corrosion. Refer to the Wiring Diagram for connector locations. Repair as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram Cell 005 for repair procedures. |
